People always get a kick out of the trash I have dumped along the ROW on my module, specifically, bathroom fixtures.

Well, one of my modular group colleagues, while waiting for the 611 to pass on its way to Petersbug, VA, snapped this shot along the Norfolk Southern ROW....

Continuing with my series of Observation cars, I was fortunate that an alert photographer snapped this photo while he was covering the 1st revenue run for the Daylight being pulled by the Cab Forward in these sparkling colors. Makes quite a photo, don't you think.

A little project that I worked on yesterday for my office at home.  Framed, matted, and grouped some railroad artwork/pictures that I have had for awhile.  Then put molding around the group to frame in the whole collection.

Saturday Morning Shoppers

Here's a little something.  A trio of RailKing NYC Madison passenger cars I sold this week to a local Forum member.  It was good to meet him face to face for the first time when we met to complete the transaction.  He must like them, as he gave me a phone call shortly after I got home.  I'm glad they have a new home.

The NYC cars were sold to make way for some Pocahontas cars to go with my new Imperial J 611.

For those of you not familiar with the TMB club layouts, we are located on Long Island, NY.  We are now working on the TMB3 version after dismantling both TMB1 and TMB2.  As expected, one of our favorite railroads is the LIRR.  Today, the LIRR is basically a commuter rail line but go back 60, 70 years, they ran some interesting engines on the LIRR.  Here is a TMB's salute to bygone days;

 Back then, Long Island was a very rural location;

Brian, Again I see the mystery train in the background on the upper-lever?  I know I have seen that train somewhere before but I just can't remember the name.  Can you give me a clue?

Hmmmm, that's a tough one, Jim. So I went out to the barn and looked at this train. The road name says Sante Fe, and the drumhead, it is the El Capitan. Does that help. 

Thanks for the clues.  I should be able to figure it out in a day or two.  What?, I'm retired it takes a while to get the old thinking organ going these days.

An early Father's day gift to myself, a Lionchief Plus Burlington GP7.

Most of my locomotives are Lionel postwar and Williams, this is my first Lionchief plus locomotive and will definitely not be my last.  This locomotive is AWESOME!!  It creeps at low speeds, the railsounds are great, the horn and bell sound very realistic and it has a smoke unit to boot.  I purchased it based solely on the OGR's review a couple of issues ago and they are right on the money, I highly recommend them to anyone on a budget, you can't beat the quality at this price.

Don't forget to visit the Hi-Rail Train Club in Griffith, IN this weekend.  If you do, you will be treated to scenes such as this wide radius curve.  An empty coal train lumbers around the curve as a motorcycle gang ignores it.  The new steel mill complex is visible in the background.

I was able to catch 611 again this past Monday ( I feel spoiled!) This time on a ferry move from Lynchburg to Spencer. Here she is passing under the soon to be replaced Southern signals at MP 305 on the Danville District.

Brian - Beautiful observation car!  K-Line did an outstanding job on the painted streamline cars and the 21" ones are the cream of the crop.

Yes, superb job on those Decals. LBR reproduced the Revel Mobil Tanker and brought it to life for me.

VL night on the Still Hollow. My new (to me) VL Challenger running with the BB. A little K-Line steamer holding down the inner loop. Was a nice session. It was fun comparing whistles (or roars more accurately) from the two big engines.

I had to do some modifications to a hillside on my layout to accommodate the new door factory I added a few weeks ago. I think it turned out well. I made a time-lapse animation of the work. Enjoy.
