I think it's about time that I wrap up showing images of the winter scene on my 2023 Christmas Layout since I've been showing them for a few weeks now.

My photos and video for this weekend show two models of Boston & Maine locomotives – 4-6-0 Ten-Wheeler #2074 and GP7 #1562.
B&M 4-6-0 Ten-Wheeler is a Lionel Legacy model (2131050) delivered in 2021 at MSRP $749.99. Lionel has used this tooling to make models with many road names. The prototype is a New York Central class F-2 Ten-Wheeler built by Alco in 1907 that the model closely resembles. The engine is shown on my 12’-by-8’ model railroad pulling B&M wood-sided passenger coaches by Lionel from tooling made by MTH. Wood passenger cars were used on the B&M into the 1950s.
B&M GP7 #1562 was made by Sunset Models/3rd Rail in 2021 at MSRP $699.95. It is highly detailed, has fixed pilots, and is powered by a horizontally-mounted Canon Motor that drives the wheels through a toothed belt. It has ERR Cruise, TMCC, EMD GP Prime Mover sounds, and a smoke system. Slow-speed operation and acceleration are very smooth. One feature of this model that makes it unique among O gauge GP7s is an extended compartment at the rear of the long hood that housed train lighting equipment for commuter service on B&M passenger versions (see photo).

Haven’t posted for quite a while. Here are some pictures of the last section of the layout to be finished which is the town of Mapleton. These are pictures of the prototype and model Pennsylvania Route 655 railroad underpass with the model shown both under construction and installed but not fully completed.

Thanks Scott for getting us going! Here are my photos of the fun kind for this fine weekend!
BIG HOOK is ready to get busty! Today's task ... unloading a coil car.
Crane oiler Hank Mobley is ready to go!
First task for the big hook is to lift the cover off the coils.
It takes a large crew of dudes to get this job done.
With the cover resting securely on the flatbed trailer, the tractor will pull the trailer off to a parking area and drop the loaded trailer. It will then pickup an empty flat bed on which to load the coils.
The tractor has now backed an empty trailer in place. Next the big hook will begin transferring the coils to the trailer. Crazy Legs Tagert, standing on the car between the coils, guides the crane operator.

House under construction.
The hard-working engine service crew can finally stand back, draw a breath and proudly admire their work as the B&O 3-unit F-3 Diesels leave the service track to couple to their passenger coaches for the day's run.

Neal, have you thought about using this photo as the backdrop for the other side of your underpass in place of the country road?

Joe,
Thanks for your comment. It won't be necessary to do that. I already have the backdrop painted in that area and there will be three dimensional structures between the overpass and the backdrop. Will post photos of them as work progresses.
Thanks,
Neal
Here is the Century Club Engines. I just finished the Century Club Series on my YouTube channel and thought this would be a good time to post all the engines.

Joe, Not sure if this late in the weekend many of you will see this, but here is the same scene on the layout with the structures in place. It still has a long way to go, but this is why I said above a photo backdrop is not necessary.

Neal what are you using for the yellow stripe? The underpass looks perfect!

Dave, it’s 1/16 inch wide model aircraft striping tape. I’ve been using it for years. They sell it at the local hobby store if you can still find one where you live! If you can’t track any down let me know and I’ll get you the brand name. Thanks for your comment on the underpass.

Ahh! Much more prototypical than the original photo with the country road.
