Thank you, Scott.....for starting the thread up. It's my favorite part of the Forum.
Tonight, in Chesterfield VA (a Richmond VA suburb), the Chesterfield County Fair begins. The River City 3 Railers will be there daily, running our modular layout.
For more details, check the Announcements Page on the Forum. We will be featuring the MTH "See it. Hold it. Run it" Program.

Here are some pics from prior setups:
A short log train rolls through.
The cardstock station has survived the humidity of summer just fine.
Been running these a lot lately.
Finally sent this home to its owner. The owner was beyond pleased to see his dad's train run for the first time in many decades.
What happened Scott? Did your lovely wife find the other Niagara that you hid from her?
Put those pics of all the kids is great. Who says kids aren't fasinated with trains and animation. Your clubs mod is fantastic.

I was bidding on-line on a Stout Auction. I was actually trying to get a 726 Century Club Berk for my son's birthday. As we got close to the auction my wife told me to take my son to get his haircut (appointment)." You know that I am in the middle of the auction". I took my tablet into the hair place and the seats were in the window-I couldn't really see what I was bidding on. So it's her fault--but I am not telling her.

I look forward to the thread every week, it's always a great inspiration for me.
NYC 0-8-0 purchased at Lionel Open House pulling a couple of passenger cars I got from Alex. It matches the one my grandfather was an engineer on back in the 40's and 50's.
A couple of around town shots. Sam the convertibles look great on the layout!

About 6 months ago, a friend of mine asked to borrow my Diesel Encyclopedia, saying he wanted to start a project, and needed some drawings. Little did I know what he was about to make. Recently, I had occasion to visit him and he invited me to see his latest creation. As I came down the steps into the basement, I was absolutely blown away by both the scope of the project and how much he had accomplished. This is a 1” scale (4 ¾” gauge) battery powered model of a Reading boxcab, built from scratch! Both trucks, all 4 axles are driven. The trucks are built up from scratch as is the rest of the unit. There is accommodation for 2 batteries, and room for more. Control will be by a handheld tethered remote control box, similar to an R/C airplane control box. The operator sits behind the engine on a rider car. That will be his next project. Obviously, he has come a long way, but he still has loads of detail to fabricate and add to the unit.
To give you an idea of the size of this thing, look at the last picture. Next to the unit is an O gauge MTH boxcab. He took measurements from the model, combined them with those of my book and pictures he found on the ‘net and scaled everything up to make this engine.
I look forward to seeing the final result!

Lehighline, that's a beautiful Ingersoll-Rand diesel!
Been awhile since my last apperance on this forum. But the Milwaukee Road Beer line struggles to survive in my garage. Today the F7 A-A set arrived.

That's awesome! I was lucky enough to get hold of one of the MTH units in the secondary market and love the little critter. I've been gathering the parts to re-work the pilots to install Kadees (I'm going to have to shave part of the power trucks and cut the stock pilot beams off.)
Here is three pictures of my williams C&O gondola with six wooden barrels and my MTH premier 3 bay 70 ton chessie (C&O) coal hopper with coal load
Hello chessie1971.....
that is a good looking williams gondola as the trucks look good too. Are the truck sprung ?

Our 2 foot gauge locomotive undergoing major maintenance this past week. Here it is lifted in the air so the rear power truck can be removed after it unexpectedly broke an axle earlier this week while pulling an excursion train. A temporary truck was put in place while the original was rebuilt and placed back under the locomotive today in order to be ready for operation tomorrow.
Thanks Tiffany

Is the SIRT on each boxcar the artists signature or is it a coincidence that it appears on these boxcars original lettering?

SIRT = Staten Island Rapid Transit

Thanks Ralph.
I generally don’t weather 027 cars. I added all the art work as I do with true O scale cars.
These take about the same amount of effort as big O.
The RMT items as we know are made for fun and fantasy.
Since the SIRT was under the B&O and long gone, SIRR “Staten Island Railway” under the MTA would have been another choice to represent the commuter line.
The cars, schemes and numbers never really existed but I always enjoy seeing any MTA transit items anyway.
Here are Ralphs cars prior to shipping…

Wow the layout looks great! Good choice of engine too.
Patrick, Great pictures of your steam power.
Liam, Thanks for the kind words. There has been some progress on the layout lately. I really like the engine, it's a great runner. I need to get it re-numbered to #7809 to match the one picture I have of my grandfather in his cab.
Kevin
GTW Ralph, your boxcars look pretty COOL.
Thanks Popsrr, Steve does an excellent work !

Anyone else seeing the pics scrambled up? Might just be my iPad.
River City 3 Railers is running the MTH SHR Program at the Chesterfield County Fair for the next eight days. While traffic was light last night, we did have 16 folks who gave the M&M's train a try.
The scenery on the bridge is complete this year. The little train ran like a top.

mrmuffin: it must be your iPad.
