I'm starting Weekend Photo Fun early.
The last couple of weeks I have been building additional tunnel portals on the club layout.
Some night shots;
Let's see your pictures.

Providence & Worcester GP-38 #2007 on my 10’-by-5’ layout. This MTH Premier model with PS-3, and others like it, are why I will miss being able to buy new equipment from MTH. Two P&W cabooses were catalogued by MTH but I never found either one.

have a great weekend !!
About six weeks ago, I posted images of the backdrop I was painting in an area of the layout where I did not have enough space for 3D background structures. The area is now basically finished. Here are some images. You can see where the 3D structures resume towards the right of the picture. The pedestrian overpass in a model of a prototype that used to stand just east of downtown Altoona. The two photographers on the bridge (Artistta figures) are supposed to be me and my friend Tom Fox who use to railfan the area back in the Conrail days. The overpass is now gone, presumably because it was not high enough to permit the passage of stack trains.
And here's a close up of the photographer figures which are a bit hard to see in the above picture:

Great job on an intriguing piece. Where did you get it?
Great photos this week! Here are some shots of a quick set up on the carpet for the grandson he loves the Lionel coal loader.
Some of my Canadian Pacific fleet some of the engines I have custom painted and the letter boards for the passenger cars.
And a long past trip of the Canadian Pacific Empress steam trip on one of the more impressive bridges the High Level Bridge at Lethbridge Alberta. Some info. on the bridge;

I don't suppose you have any pics of the process or perhaps plans or at least your inspiration? That is EXCELLENT work!
Never thought about doing "how to do it" post. Would have to assume I know what I'm doing. I just use the 1/4" equals 1 ft rule. Did a google search for 'grist mills, mills, water wheels, what have you and look at the pictures to get ideas. No need to draw up plans. Just use basic construction principles. I do enjoy working with wood so I have a little background in that area and I definitely love the creative process. Thanks again.

Lots of great photos. Thank you all especially SIRT, Johan, Brian, Neal, Jackie Jr.
Excellent photographs everyone. I did my initial mock up if my lower town. It's a bit interesting with all the tracks involved, but I am happy with this first placement.

Great photos this weekend guys, Scott, thanks again for starting the thread. Neal, really nice work as usual, reminded me of when I was a lot younger and would go take pictures of the trains wherever I happened to be, always tried to find the best places for good pictures. Steve, your weathering jobs are really great, I like to study them to try and figure out how you did what you did. Trumptrain, I really like your layout, you always have great pics and come up with really nice scenes. BAR GP-7 #63, your layout is really terrific, I love your detailing and it looks to be an action-packed well operating layout, thanks for sharing it with us. Is it in the US or over in Europe? Mark, your layout is coming along very nicely, your mock-up looks like it will fit nicely and be a good addition for you to add in. KJ356, very nice work and some nice shots of your grandson checking out the coaling station, hopefully he will get the bug and get into the hobby as he gets older, keep him interested. Jackiejr, that is an awesome structure, I love it. I wish I had your scratchbuilding talents, you do some mighty fine work. I agree with Palallin, it would be nice if you posted a work in progress on it. Did you scratch out the rock work too? The building has so much character to it and it fits in nicely into your layout. Terrific work, thanks for sharing it, if you have more like that, please share them, I'd love to see them.

I finally finished my Police Department project this past week.....
To recap, I took a dirty Plasticville Police Department that was missing parts and lightened the building with a lighter gray.....
I constructed the needed missing parts from scrap styrene.....
I painted the parts the appropriate colors and chose a flag instead of an antenna for the roof fixture.....I figured that the antenna was an invitation to get broken......and then glued everything together. To hide the crack in the front door, I took a piece of sheet styrene and sprayed it red and backdropped the crack.....
It's not much, but it was relaxing and fun to do.....and it will eventually find a home on one of our raffle layouts in the future....

Thank you!! It is now what I originally envisioned when planning, but with the decision to make the foreground grade on trestles to see through to the town, I'm very pleased.

Down by the old mill stream. Super nice with fantastic texture.
We're still shut down, but the City allows members inside the building to maintain security, maintain and test the system, and keep the track clean. Just isn't the same without visitors. That said, I did run a consist test on the pair of MTH SD70ACe's that got me tossed off the Isle of Denial.
Johan, I really enjoyed the video. Seeing the layout in action was a lot of fun, the blending of the trains, scenery and backdrops was incredible.
Joe. Thank you. I almost forgot that video myself, it reminds me a lot of good memories of when we visited Germany a couple of times. Hopefully Covid19 will make it easier and we will be able to visit some show again next year.

I saw posts that the Mark Twain Zephyr is on the move for restoration. They should have used UPS. I would have volunteered my driving service. I will contribute to the effort. I could be wrong on this,but I seem to remember Neil Young 25 years ago on a radio show interview that he would only sell the rights to his songs to get this train restored. I wonder if he is kicking in any money.
