Great Photos everybody..   Its been awhile but been dealing with back to school crap and other things. As usual my finger hurts but that's what they make aspirin for.  Scott reminds us that Halloween is around the corner. Mike McCutcheon takes us to Disney  and NJCJOE gives us Disney Dream. BobbyD gives us flats spots and M J Breen gives us HAZMAT Training. Putnam Division shows a great tribute from a Vet. CNJ 3676 shares layout photos of some very nice work, belonging to the Raritan Valley and Independent hi-rail groups. walt rapp teases us with Christmas past and PRRMiddleDivision take us back in time( photo from last week  with present day photo of the same bridge. An OGR version of a Dickens classic? SIRT gets stumped while giving us grain. Steven Michael, CNJ #1601 show of their weathering skills, Trumptrain gives us a mix while BANDOB provides commentary of the Hanjin financial problems while bigtruckpete dose some dumpster diving. scale rail give us Steam Heaven and Tom Morris finally run trains. The standout pics for me are Norm Charbonneau and his beast. John Sethian and his Electra Industries.

I been adding Birch trees to my layout and I can thank the Good idea Fairy for this one. Have a Great Labor day Weekend

Well, I ran a consist with four powered scale-wheeled GP35 units just to see how things would behave with each other. They worked very well. Of course, I ran a decent string of cars behind it. Interestingly enough, I've seen BNSF run 4-unit consists on the local that runs along the remnants of the Pasadena Subdivision out to Pomona and Irwindale with a relatively small string of cars that could easily be handled by a pair of locomotives (really would only need one).

Williams Challenger. Custom decals by Rail Graphics. Pardon the so-so photo (I didn't take it! Really!)

Challenger02

My parents saw the real Clinchfield Challengers rusting away at Erwin, TN many times. I doubt either saw them in service, though they easily could have. They were both were pre-teens when they went into service on that RR...

Great picture of the real one.

Well, maybe not so great for the engine.
