I guess I'm not the only one up this early! Here are some shots of my Navy base.
Beep Beep Beep
Purchased this as a Lionel New Haven RS11 some time ago on the Buy/Sell forum. Recently finished the redecoration of it into the Maine Central. Plan to run it on the Boston Metro Highrailers layout at the open house tomorrow.
That RS-11 looks awesome Al! Can't wait to see it in person. See you tomorrow.
Hi Chris, Your Nave base is outstanding, could you tell us a little something about that 700 series building. Where did you find it/ who built it? thanks, Bruce
Hi Bruce thank you. The building is made by Marx not sure what year it was made. You can find them on E-Bay but I got mine from a forum member. The Navy stickers I did but the roof reads "Armed forces training center.
The sun sets behind Mt. Saint Helena near the little town of Calistoga at the north end of the famed Napa Valley.
If John Sethian is already hanging catenary on his great layout....I have to get cracking.
In first view, an Atlantic Coast Line freight drifts downgrade at Mid-Grade. In the second view, the caboose of the southbound clears the signal bridge as the E6-powered "Southland" slows for orders at Mid-Grade. In the third view, the engineer of the "Southland" waits impatiently for his orders to be hooped up. In the final view, the "Southland" meets another ACL freight at George's Creek Junction.
Amazing how realistic two rail scale looks compared to the three rail "scale." I'm just sayin'. The secret when it comes to three rail appears to be low angle photography.

A partially modified Pylon that I'm very excited to add to my layout. It will represent my father's flying time in the service at the at end of WWII...still need to change 1st Cav insignia and building color...

That is a stunning engine. Nice work.
Nice UP's, Pete
Popsrr
Nice refinery at night. I was looking for James Cagney to appear on the round benzine tank, then a huge fireball as in 'White Heat' one of my all time Cagney favorites
Mike P
Bill:
Pictures of your fabulous refinery are always welcome. I particularly like the night shots.
Mike P. Thank you.
Brian, Thanks for your nice words. Alan did a wonderful job for us on the refinery. The night pictures of it are I think the better shots drawing attention to so many parts of the refineru. Thanks again Brian.
Love the car Rusty. Don
Pops, the refinery is outstanding! Keep the pictures coming! Here are a few shots of the latest additions to the WIHABL RR roster...
MTH Premier CNJ SD70 ACe (NS Heritage unit)...
MTH Premier CNJ SD35 powered and non-powered units...
Have a great weekend!
Joe:
Gotta love those Jersey Centrals, particularly the orange and blue version.
Tom (Gilly@N&W) and I worked to get the yard on our modular layout ready for further ballasting. The styrofoam is Tom's idea.......it really cuts down on the ballast in an area where the terrain is level at tie height.
Peter
Darn it, Steve. I like yours better than mine. Dusty and dirty definitely captures the look of the CNJ!!
