A customer asked me to scratch build him an icing platform, he always liked the version from Atlas. He sent me some pictures and sizes, i put my own spin on it. Here's some pictures of it in progress, this is all made with pine and poplar wood. Only item made with styrene is the small white building.

Great shots,  can you imagine the size of layout one would need if you had a starting quarterback boxcar for each guy that has started for them since they returned in 1999.  I think Mayfield's start will make him the 30th since 99

CN 394 with a little KCS help, exiting the St. Clair Tunnel. What I liked about this photo was the black oil/grease stripe down the center of the track. It gives me a little more "ammo" now when the scale guys chirp about my Atlas O 3 rail!!

Hi all, I haven’t posted in awhile, as the trains have taken a back seat this summer. The DeLorean was misbehaving and I have learnt more about K Jetronic fixing it than anyone should have to suffer.

Anyway had a couple of days off this week and put up a second set of display shelves.

First set, that we have had up for a couple of years.

New set of shelves.

Pool table is clear for the first time in at least a year

Have a great weekend

Well, there's this project. It never ends - partly because we have had never-ending rains around Mobile, for weeks. The mud is in full bloom, where part of my backyard grass used to be. In the distance is the existing 12X24 layout/workshop. All my building and running (mostly building) goes on in there. Parts everywhere. I have to dumpster-dive to find anything. Walk sideways a lot. (The model railroader "slide-n-shuffle".)

So....I'm having built a 12X15 addition; the old entry door (door itself will be removed) is now in the wall separating the layout from the Locomotive Works. The workbench, supplies (look at all that stuff on the floor and in boxes - not "junk"!) and tools will now reside in the new area, foreground, and then I may once again see my layout.

After the old vinyl siding was removed:

And I had the carpenter add two holes ("rabbit holes" he called them)...gee, I wonder why? Well, there is going to be some compact as possible benchwork, a simple 072 loop in and out, lift-up bridge in the walkway. This increases my outside main run by...a bunch. It's too easy (relatively) not to do. I already have 2 sidings aimed about the right way on the layout. Cheap thrills, small footprint.
