Weekend Photo Fun starts now!
I saw these playing cards just sitting in the back at the VMT.
Each card features a different scene from Virginia
Let's see your pictures.

My M*A*S*H scene on the layout.
We are in the process of shuffling bedrooms around. This has resulted in my upstairs layout being dismantled and will be relocated to a 12' by 23' room in the basement.
A generous gift to our modular group.... it will be put to good use this train season....
Looking forward to seeing everyone soon at York!

A customer asked me to scratch build him an icing platform, he always liked the version from Atlas. He sent me some pictures and sizes, i put my own spin on it. Here's some pictures of it in progress, this is all made with pine and poplar wood. Only item made with styrene is the small white building.

Great work Alex.
Thanks for showing the step by step process.
Well I can finally show this picture since they finally won a game there is no more shame admitting that I am a Browns fan. Taken at the Age of Steam Roundhouse about the last time they won a game.

This is incredible work Alex... always super impressed with the things you have created. Awesome stuff
Happy Friday !!
Plan to start ballasting in the next few days.
Running some MPC stuff this week -
Santino really likes to watch the trains -
611 left Spencer this week & made her way back home to Roanoke. I chased her all the way. Still going through the shots, but here's the first one I got to - Seen through a 20MM lens, N&W 611 passes through Forest, VA on the Blue Ridge District as she heads home to Roanoke
NS Dash-9 9563 leads eastbound 20K through Duncannon, PA on the eastern end of the Pittsburgh Line
NS ES44AC 8095 leads 234 through Wabun, VA on the Christiansburg District
A new GE ET44AC and the Erie heritage unit lead Crewe, VA - Bellevue, OH manifest 189 through Montgomery, VA on the Christiansburg District.

Great shots, can you imagine the size of layout one would need if you had a starting quarterback boxcar for each guy that has started for them since they returned in 1999. I think Mayfield's start will make him the 30th since 99

Quarterback reunion train at the stadium...
The Clubhouse at night outside. The proprietors have opened 'The Company Store' where they sell buffalo-themed shirts, souvenirs, and buffalo meat to their guests. Still work to be done to the exterior of the building but there ARE trains running upstairs.
CN 394 with a little KCS help, exiting the St. Clair Tunnel. What I liked about this photo was the black oil/grease stripe down the center of the track. It gives me a little more "ammo" now when the scale guys chirp about my Atlas O 3 rail!!
CN 148 going through Bayview Junction.
VIA 40th Anniversary promotional train.
Hi all, I haven’t posted in awhile, as the trains have taken a back seat this summer. The DeLorean was misbehaving and I have learnt more about K Jetronic fixing it than anyone should have to suffer.
Anyway had a couple of days off this week and put up a second set of display shelves.
First set, that we have had up for a couple of years.
New set of shelves.
Pool table is clear for the first time in at least a year
Have a great weekend

Great stuff this weekend!

Not a bird, or a plane, maybe a boat - it's the Soul Train
Alex another fabulous job. Are you planning on adding chutes to fill the ice bunkers through the roof hatches.
CSam very nice clubhouse. Is the caboose the company store or is that a one of the rental units?
Well, there's this project. It never ends - partly because we have had never-ending rains around Mobile, for weeks. The mud is in full bloom, where part of my backyard grass used to be. In the distance is the existing 12X24 layout/workshop. All my building and running (mostly building) goes on in there. Parts everywhere. I have to dumpster-dive to find anything. Walk sideways a lot. (The model railroader "slide-n-shuffle".)
So....I'm having built a 12X15 addition; the old entry door (door itself will be removed) is now in the wall separating the layout from the Locomotive Works. The workbench, supplies (look at all that stuff on the floor and in boxes - not "junk"!) and tools will now reside in the new area, foreground, and then I may once again see my layout.

After the old vinyl siding was removed:
And I had the carpenter add two holes ("rabbit holes" he called them)...gee, I wonder why? Well, there is going to be some compact as possible benchwork, a simple 072 loop in and out, lift-up bridge in the walkway. This increases my outside main run by...a bunch. It's too easy (relatively) not to do. I already have 2 sidings aimed about the right way on the layout. Cheap thrills, small footprint.
Alex,
The icing station looks great.
In a book there was a photo of actual Sounder Bombardier Bi-Level commuter coaches with a SOO LINE extended-vision caboose. This is an approximation of the SOUNDER and SOO pairing. The SOUNDER coaches are from MTH.
