Hi gang. A little early start tonight but what the heck. The weekend can never come to soon! Here are a few shots under the dome.

Chris, Love the Torpedo! Lionel?

Hi Joe. That torpedo is American Flyer. Restored with a modern power plant under the hood.
Greetings tinplaters. For over a year I've had this very nice Bassett Lowke Goods (Freight to us yanks) Engine made in 1937 that I got on the Forum. But I was too lazy to get a bridge rectifier and shoot some DC current into it to make it run. Yesterday I did so and it runs like a champ. It also can easily pull 4 of the heavy Bing passenger cars. Here we see it passing Wabanville with a Carette and three Bing coaches. What a sound that train makes as it rattles along the right of way.
Some 30 years ago I bought this 2 Dorfan freight cars which until now were just standing in the glasscase; I never had a suitable locomotive. Some months ago I found this American Flyer 401 with caboose and then I thought this combination is not a bad looking train (I hope mixing Flyer with Dorfan is acceptable for the Tinplate police):
Have a good weekend.
Regards
Fred
NB: Chris, Your pictures do not show up; I do not think this has to do with the distance between USA and Europe?

Mix brands in the same train? Not a problem. Some of us even mix brands in the same car or loco! LOL
Nice looking train!
Fred I'm afraid this totally unacceptable behavior, as a result you must forfeit these beautiful tinplate trains to me. Here's my mailing.......
I am not a collector of HO gauge trains but i have made an exception for this lovely french JEP set, the Pacific Mignon. Jep has certainly been inspired by the BING table top railway that a collector has show us recently, it was not successfull in his time and production stopped around 1934.
Have a nice tinplate weekend, Daniel

Fred, certainly you must have some Fandor engines in inventory that could adopt their nephews.

Jim, I have only one small Kraus Fandor clockwork loco (with 2 passenger cars). I do not think this loco would look good with the Dorfan cars, so no family mix-up. Here is the Fandor train:

Yeah I was thinking more like the 4-volt or the 20-volt electric locos.
The Ives 64000 series boxcars with the t-trucks or 8-wheel trucks look pretty close. I have seen several 8-wheel boxcars with the brass journals removed that closely resemble the Dorfan trucks.
I'm a little late posting today. Did you ever have one of those days where going to work got in the way of the things you really wanted to do?
Great posts so far folks. This thread is always a visual treat.
This is an example of American Flyer's interpretation of a Hudson. At least that is what they called it.
It came with a set of the green streamlined cars. From my observation the green cars are the most common of the streamlined cars.
It makes quite an impressive set.
Have a great Tinplate weekend

Chris,
This passenger is great! Couldn't it be for you Samuel Adams Brewery Tours?

From the archives...an idle 3316 combo:
Everything looks better after rolling through that 305 bridge.

PD,
I really like the looks of your layout. Any chance we could see more photos of it? Do you have photos posted of it somewhere?
Greg - Northwoods Flyer
Great pictures as always, thanks for sharing. I lived long enough to see the Chicago Cubs finally get to and win a World Series so it has been a good week. Hats off to the Indians, great team that never gave up. Here is a picture of a great book that I got this week that took me back to the Sears catalogs of my youth. Fun to see what Lionel and Marx cost back in the day and with inflation what the trains would cost today. If interested fellow is selling another one on the bay with a best offer. He must have a few of these to sell. Mine was brand new still in plastic shrink wrap.

Thanks Greg. I have posted occasionally on OGH and MTJ (healey36) but nothing that gives a 'wide-angle' view of the layout. I'll try to do better here.
However, the layout area in the basement is a wreck right now...one of the immediate projects is to get it cleaned up before the holidays. Once that's done I can hopefully get some better, more recent pics to post.

The Copper Cannonball arrives on time...
B&O anyone...
American Flyer - small
American Flyer - Large
Bing - Large
Ives - Small
Marx - Multicolored

Nice going, Chris! Looks like you really brought the tinplaters out of the woodwork this weekend!
anyone recognize the Japan toy logo?
I recently picked up this streamliner express friction toy hoping to convert to O- gauge at some point. I see a Santa Fe or Southern Pacific AB unit over that silver paint eventually.
Have only seen this logo before on a similar 13-1/2 inch streamliner.
Here is a better one the unit I picked up with the original box from an auction a few years back.
