I bought a new toy at auction. It's my second MTH engine, and my first with ANY sort of protosounds system in it. I googled this engine for information when I saw it on the auction list, but could only find the catalog it came in (from 06). Well, I thought it said protosounds 1, but when I got to the auction, it's box listed it as protosounds 2 (I misread the catalog). Score for me I think. I got what I consider a good deal on an engine which I am sure is still brand new (listed as MIB, wheels and trim were still packed in foam, and the rollers show no wear). I have no idea what it's worth, but I'm happy with it (though the whole "charging" thing has me nervous).
I also got a great deal on 4 sets of O-22 switches, but I will not bore you with pictures of those
Perry, beautiful photo. Love the water effect.
CarGuy,
Install a BCR and worry no more. Put that Camelback on the track. Apply 10 volts [no more] for 60 seconds. Bingo, ready to run
Go to www.jandwelectronics.com. Send Wayne Renga the MTH number on the box. He will tell you which BCR you need and send it to you.
Mike from Maine, is your arm as long as that tunnel, if not have any problems reaching derailments?

I have had a few people suggest this to me, and I am going to see about picking one up at York. It should take the BCR2, as it is a 2.4v
You can bring that locomotive to York, give it to Wayne Renga at J & W Electronics in the Gold Hall, and he will install a BCR for you.
Had a fairly productive afternoon down at the club. Got a limping MTH Railking Diesel back on its wheels. Got Kadees re-mounted on a couple of diesels and a flat car, and got to run a couple of trains. But the big thing is that our polo shirts finally arrived in plenty of time for the upcoming Fall open house.
Michael R,
I have two of those Camelbacks and they are great runners. They smoke really well too. Enjoy.

Thanks. I have been charging it a few hours at a time (since it has been sitting for so long), and I can't wait to give it a real run tonight!
Jack,
The tunnel is 48" long. I can reach half way in from either closet. Or use a grabber if needed. Haven't had a derailment yet. But I'm prepared for when it does happen.
I want to post about Perry's great shot (always) or the new angle on John S's layout beautiful layout.....
but, I've really got to say what a great shirt that is Matt!!!
Tackindy,
Where did you get those toyota lift trucks?

We have a store called "Tractor Supply Co" or TSC. They have a lot of farm related toys for the farmer's kids. This was there for only $3.99. Now, it isn't quite scale, but on a flatcar it looks pretty good! I also picked up two International Tractors for $3.99 each too!
