I miss talking trains with Rich......I must have bought 20 MTH locos from him. When they were on Albemarle Rd they were pretty close to my home and was great. Anyone know what Rich is up to today??
On the other hand, there are only two train shows a year within driving distance of me (45 miles). You win some, you lose some.
There will be another train show in the Charlotte area on August 24 & 25 at the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer. All scales plus railroadiana. Not sure at this point who has signed up to be a vendor. Trying to work with Lionel in their Concord office for a display. For more information contact Leah Cook at the NCTM.

I feel your pain.......3 hours drive to the once a year show.......the next nearest show is 4-5 hours and that means a hotel....so I have to pass on those.
We had one show in our region. It was 1 hour away. It was the size of about half a high school gym. Must not have gone over well as it was the first and last show.
Dave,
I ran into Exem (Never knew how to spell his name) at the show Saturday.
Didn't really have a chance to talk to him much. But the show had turned out to be pretty successful from what I can tell. Turnout was very good at 11am. Me and my Dad stayed for 2 hours I was mainly talking to guy's a know and trying to keep my 2 year old son from losing his mind from Train overload. Ended up buying a Thomas the Tank engine train whistle and Cute Caboose T-shirt for my son. I got an adult size Southern 630 T-shirt. I hope the Aug show at Spencer has a good turnout also.
Correction September 28-29, 2013 the "Great Train Expo" scheduled for Dixie Classic Fairgrounds in Winston-Salem.
HeyPRRronbh, You have your dates wrong for the great train expo. It's September 28-29, 2013. It will be held during the week of the fair.............Rogerw.
Hi Roger, Thanks for the catch. Rechecked the notice they sent and you are correct, September it is. And September sure is better than August.
Correcting post.
