It's in Barry's book . It's also been posted many times and is probably in the archives. try a search.I would remove the batteries for starters. Is this related to your other thread about a blank remote screen? or not being able to turn it on?
Sometimes you can seal it in a bag full of uncooked rice for a few days. That might suck the moisture out of it.
It's important to dry it out completely before you try and use it. I left one out in the rain by accident. It's the first remote I owned and it still works over a decade later.
Make sure you remove the screw under the batteries first. Gently squeezing the top helps the pieces separate easier. I still pry a bit with a screwdriver and I usually start in the middle. Others have posted it's easier to start at the bottom. Just be careful how you pry so you don't crack fragile areas like the bottom.
There were many posts about this here on the forum.
Don't the cell phone folks tell you to place it in a bag with rice to absorb the moisture?
Thank you, I've got it apart in rice in a plastic tub for some days.
I think it's working, but the LCD screen is messed up.
thank you MONK
I think you need a tight lid on that plastic tub.
GOT one. How many days do you think it take to dry it out?
thank you MONK
In the rice fore a week or better, still some letters missing. Do you think that a fresh batch of rice would help?
thank you MONK
