I went to Vince trains 10 times amd never saw what I something that I really wanted until this morning when someone else was buying it. I bought other engines there and one I brought just after someone else bought it and lucky he had another. But there was a Chicago and Northwestern set of kline cars there that I walked past 10 times until I saw it until and someone else was buying it.  I guess it's something to look for next year.

Unless Vince had another set from the collection he bought, that K-Line CNW set was at his booth back at October's meet.  I was thinking about getting it on Saturday afternoon back in October but passed on it since he had other 'priorities' I wanted/needed.

That set wasn't displayed Thursday afternoon as Vince told me he had so much stuff he didn't have room to display them, including the K-Line California Zephyr 21" car set I bought from him.  The CNW set was still there when I pryed myself away from his booth Saturday afternoon.

That is one dangerous booth!

I was there Saturday at 9:30am and someone had just bought the CNW set. I checked at 10:00 am and it was gone. Are you sure it was there Saturday afternoon?

Missed a GTW passenger set - Vince said he sold one first thing on Thursday.  I was in his booth by 12:05 - either I didn't see it or it was already gone by then.  Perhaps Vince needs his own hall.

I also miss the camper painted in Lionel colors that used to be parked where all of the drives meet in the middle of the fairgrounds.  Haven't seen it for a couple of years.  Have no idea whose it was.

I didn't miss anyhting this time, but last meet I saw a 3-piece #92 Tinplate traditions floodlight tower set for $80.  Wasn't on my want list, so I didn't grab it when I saw it.  After making the rounds a second time I decided to go back and get it.  I actually saw it walking away as I got there.  I snoozed apparently.   Haven't seen that set that cheap anywhere since.

I missed any kind of healthy food.... not that there has been any healthy food served at York during my 5 years of attending ( so really I'm not missing anything bistro )   Has anyone in York heard of green vegetables ...  OR food that is not fried or loaded with carbs?  I'll be packing my own food from now on

I also missed the Underground Railroad Shop in the Orange Hall this past April.

Absolutely.  It's been up for around 12 hours, hopefully not too many web-crawling programs have snagged it all, but probably at least a few have.

Hopefully the worst he suffers from is more spam due to providing his email as an html link in the post.

Nobody was criticizing you.

As far as stupidity goes...... some folks would consider putting your personal contact information up on an open, public forum to be unwise.

So why call ...... For all that we all rely on Email, delivery and a resulting action are far from guaranteed. Occasionally emails aren't delivered. Sometimes they get lost in network spam / antivirus filters. Then there are filters on individual workstations / mailboxes.
The recipient could loose track of the email and leave it sitting in their mailbox for an extended period. They might accidentally delete the email.
Should these things happen? Of course not, but they do. So, when several attempts to get a response / action from an email are unsuccessful, it seems prudent to make a call.

Here's something I missed out on at York.......

In the Brown Hall, at the west entrance, there was an older gentleman who used to have a stall where he sold used and new books on transportation and military subjects. He was always very helpful. I usually found some out-of-print book that I wanted or something that just piqued my interest.

The last two Yorks, he wasn't there. I don't know his name. I had spoken to him for many years but didn't take the time to know his name. Since he was an older gentleman, I can only hope that he has retired.

What this has taught me is that I shouldn't miss out on the opportunity to talk to people. Sometimes, you don't know when they're not coming back.
