I’m thinking about buying this PRR boxcar to add to my fleet. I’ve never seen one with an ‘S’ on the side. Does anyone know what that means?

A picture would be useful.
i thought it meant sand service.
Well, I'm pretty sure I included a picture with the OP, but it may have been taken down. Instead, here's a link to the Lionel product page.

I believe it stands for "Stores".

Just looked it up online and it says that the car was equipped with special features or had been modified in some way. For example, is could denote that the boxcar had steel underframes or other structural reinforcements. Hope this helps. Mark
For all above I did find a picture of a pennsy boxcar with the S, don't know if I can post a picture if I take it off the computer, so look up What does the S stand for on P.R.R. boxcar then go to image, and you will find the boxcar with the S. Mark update this is the boxcar I found #497330
Stores is correct. These were to handle company supplies and parts.
Thanks, all.
My last question is what exactly would a ‘stores’ car carry? I imagine there’s no set load, but since I’ve never worked on railroads I have absolutely no idea. I ask because I like to put prototypical loads in my cars.
I'm going to assume whatever procurement obtained - signal wire, signal components, hardware, materials for maintaining the fleet. These were 'house' cars probably strictly to run between maintenance depots and engine facilities.
Thanks @DaveP. I have several things in my spare parts box that fit that description which I can put in that car.
