I'm assuming a lot of vendors accept credit cards at York. Is that corrrect? Or, is cash preferred? This is my first time attending the York meet. Thank you.

Cash is king but pretty much everyone will take a credit card. American Exprsss cards are not accepted by many vendors due to the higher fees involved
No matter what payment method you use rest assured you will run out of money before running out of things you like. You will have a blast, the first York is overwhelming. No matter how much you have heard about it when you see it you will smile from ear to ear.
Jeff hit the nail on the head. All that I will add is with some smaller dealers, you get a better cash price due to the fee associated with the cards.
The member hall sellers are normal people. Most do not take credit cards.
I asked this same question about a month ago. If you want to see the thread, it is probably on the first two pages yet. If you want what I got out of it, bring cash.
I'll be accepting credit cards in the member blue hall. I have a square. L-1. I have a ton of rolling stock and a few engines.

But wait a Square requires a iPhone/iPad or Android
I have used cash, checks or PayPal with individual vendors, most dealers are set up for credit cards as well.

What makes you think they are normal?
Speaking of payment. There is no warranty on any Lionel or MTH product if not purchased from an authorized dealer. So, when buying at York from a dealer if paying cash is there any issue getting a receipt? If so are they going to charge sales tax?
Anyone know?
I do believe dealers pay sales tax, only member to member sales are tax free
The only other advice I can offer is that if you see something you really like buy it. Don't think "I'll browse a little more and come back if I don't find a better deal" because it will be gone.
Of course, cash is king. CC good......
cash cash cash, having been to many train shows over the years,
dealers appreciate cash and the exact amount so they dont have to
make change.
I'll take most anything you give me. Except a half-eaten cheeseburger.
ive had dealers make a better deal with cash....... they didnt charge sales tax .....no paper trail. i cannot tell you which ones, though.-jim
