Well I surprised myself - despite what I said last night, my first train purchase of the year did not involve a locomotive. Today I took a drive over to a shop in Arkansas and walked out with a set of 5 Atlas O Gunderson Twin Stacks for the Santa Fe and enough containers to fill them. Should look pretty good behind my Atlas O Maersk and Warbonnet-painted GP60s.

Talked to the hobby shop I preordered this locomotive from the other day, and they had no idea when this engine might be shipping from MTH.

I talked to MTH a week before Christmas and they apparently had no idea either at the time.  They said they were still thought they might get in for December - clearly that did not happen.   This was my last pre-order - I'm tired of getting jacked up 6 months to a year out of the delivery window.  I'll wait until they show up on shelves, and if they don't I'll just buy something else.  I have lots of hobbies

So like you, my first purchase of 2015 kind of depends on MTH's delivery schedule...

Probably no trains or buildings for this year.  Been out of work a month for several tears in rotator cuff. Had to be cut open to have it fixed.  Will probably be out another 2 months or more for physical therapy. When I do get back to work it will be catching up on the bills. I'm just hoping I can get the layout built for the rails layed & wired this year. All the wood is cut and painted in the garage, pillars for the elevated track are all cut, just need to be primed & stone painted.  Just taking therapy 1 day at a time right now while healing up.

After waiting to see if the price would be lowered over the past week, I finally made my move today on a mint K-Line Reading Company F7 Powered A/Powered B unit set that was broken up from a Boscov's Dept. Store-exclusive freight set that K-Line had made when the price was lowered today. Will upgrade to TMCC later this year. These two F7 units should be arriving by the end of the month and mark the first of what should be many purchases this year!
