One of our steam engines started squeaking. I found this, but not sure if it is safe to use on Lionel/MTH O-Scale engines. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Being "Conductive Contact Lube", that would be for the pick-up rollers only. I would NOT use that on gears, nor side rods on steam models.

Thanks for pointing that out! After closer inspection I noticed this is the same stuff we use to clean our track, just in a smaller bottle. Can you recommend a good lubricant for side rods?
I use LaBelle products, never had a problem with them.
I like Labelle, as well. You might also be interested in this syringe I got off the internet, which makes it easier and less messy getting grease into tight spaces, like gears.

Here you go. Lucas white lithium grease for the gears and Liberty synthetic oil for everything else. 😉

I always preferred any of the oils and greases from X-L Lubricants.
HI recommend turbine oil for side rods and axle shaft and red thick n tacky for gear boxes! also turbine oil for bronze motor bearings one drop on each motor bushing. thick n tacky grease is excellent and makes all gearboxes. run smoothly and helps engine draw less current and run smoothly and very low friction!

Thank you all for your recommendations! We got this kit by Labelle on Amazon for $30, it should suffice.
