I like Clickety Clack but the only problem is, you can't blow the whistle when the locomotive is in Clickety Clack mode.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

Get the locomotive up to about 30 smph, and the sound will change to a rail sound called "Clikity Clack".

This is set up by using the soft keys or going into the Main Menu and look for "Clikity Clack" under sound.

This is the only time I will go fast to get to this sound.

DETROIT AND MACKINAC RAILWAY PASSENGER CAR v3

I try to run my trains at realistic scale speeds, which is easier to do with DCS than in conventional or either of the Lionel systems because you can read out actual scale MPH. I run freight trains anywhere from 30 to 60 mph depending what it is (drag freights at 30, crack reefer blocks at 60, time freights in between). Passenger trains, the same idea. Diesels around 60, old heavyweight trains a little less, and the steam Hiawatha goes 100 smph behind a streamlined F7 Baltic 4-6-4.

I have two layouts and conventional control only, so my "scale" is estimated to say the least. One is a 5'x'9 table with three concentric ovals. Speeds are whatever - I have mostly postwar, a couple of modern steamers, and even some early tin plate.

Second layout is a track with O72 curves around the top of the 11'x11' room. Here I go full out. With ~35 postwar cars and using my experimental 4-motor E8 kit bash I run  the consist at ~125 scale MPH, and there is room to go. It makes a heckuva racket - my neighbor can hear it!
