Still pushing for a Baby Red Comet..er Meteor Limited.
Still pushing for a Baby Red Comet..er Meteor Limited.
A very good idea in Traditional.
However, I'd like to wish for something different. How about an AF O gauge Ambassador?

That freight set is almost exactly whats on my track right now, difference is I am using the big Hudson.
Steve
Original AF 3200 series freight cars are easy to find. Rather, I'd like to see the passenger set (the "Ambassador") with the 3800 series cars, a "tougher" find, reproduced.
Bob
what would I like to see? WHAT WOULD I LIKE TO SEE?? I would like to see the proper production run for the add-on passenger car for my red/white 249E Christmas passenger set, that was obviously under produced. I was in the hospital when it came out and by the time I got home to order, no body had it, including MTH.
O Gauge Trolleys, Trolleys Trolleys. For 10 years asking but nothing
Larry S
Well,yes!...one in particular.
The Toonerville Trolley!!
Maybe with a smidgen of appropriate sounds...like a bell?
...with a handful of the tinplate complementing accessories.
Oh well.....you asked.
KD
I've said it before but I'll say it again - 9 1/2 inch O gauge litho boxcars with new lithography - any of the Atlas billboard reefers would be an instant "must get" for my railroad.
1) American Flyer Wide Gauge Blue Lithograph Presidents Special set
2) Make/meet the stated delivery dates!

I absolutely agree with #1.
John.
This months new MTH newsletter with the brown state set and the special red passenger set would be an immediate buy if only they were O Gauge. Is the tooling so costly that MTH cannot shrink these standard gauge beauties down to O gauge? So SAD.
Larry S
Yes, tooling is costly. Big risk for limited audience, no slight intended. Think about it, the labor costs to assemble would be about the same, probably X-number of minutes (hours?) per unit. Which would you make more money on a $300.00 item or a $500.00 item?
Steve
A standard gauge version of the Lionel prewar Hiawatha. (4-4-2)

#1764 and cars 1766-67-68 any colors,,,blue comet,state green,brown or ****,,,I agree 400 **** , maybe a pink #9, a 380,,,,,pllzzzz,horn or whisle for trad loco's altho love electronics
guess one has to spell out Christmas ,also love all the graphics on the cars more, more
I would go for a maroon 380 with PS-3 in it.
I would be interested in some litho. Maybe some nice tin litho buildings to go with all the stations. I know Lionel didn't originally make 'em, but they sure would build out a town area.
O Gauge trolley, Leland monorail, and a O gauge American flyer set freight/Passenger. All with PS-3.
In my conversation on the phone today, I think there's an excellent chance of seeing at least one of the items on your list in the near future.
I hope it's the AF o gauge set....
My bet is on the monorail.
Sunrise
600E!
Some new Flyer O would be great, but it would take all new drawings and tooling, so I also bet on the monorail. Wonder if Mike has suddenly found the tooling now that prices have gone up quite a bit. No, I'm not cynical
You're probably right on the monorail. Demand for those is high enough to result in a miraculous relocation of the tooling.
Meanwhile there's a guy on the bay trying to sell restored AF O from the Chicago era with what appears to be limited success. Not as many flyer nuts as monorail men, I guess!
An O gauge tinplate trolley would certainly make my list. I'll buy one in each flavor they might make.

Doubt it's the monorail. I asked Mike about it. He was surprised about the rising value of it in the secondary market, and that the tooling had been misplaced. Let's hope I'm wrong! I'd be one of the first to order one if he cataloged it again!
I'd like to see a #5, with tender, or without, with PS/3.
Once again, I don't think LCT will be producing anything not Lionel or American Flyer.
Frank,
I missed your comments on this before. Why won't MTH (LCT) be producing some tinplate Ives or Dorfan trains?

To make the most of the Lionel agreement. Lionel still has the rights to the American Flyer and Lionel names. MTH will make the other stuff when the agreement runs out.
Just hoping the upcoming catalog is not just different paint schemes of recent offerings.
I'm new to the Standard Gauge world, so I'd like to see some of the Ives trains that were last reproduced by MTH Tinplate Traditions in the mid-2000's that pre-dated the MTH/Lionel licensing agreement (as well as my involvement in Standard Gauge).
Stuff like the IVES 3243R passenger sets and the Ives National Ltd with the red steamer and blue cars with red roofs. Really ver classy looking sets!
