A 2036, way back when the Earth was cooling.

Grew up with a good old reliable 2037 Steam Locomotive, a 218 AA Santa Fe Alco, and a 601 Seaboard Switcher.
first ones that I ever played with was my Dad's postwar 2358 Great Northern EP5 & 616 SF NW2
First one that was bought for me was the 18901/18902 Pennsy Alco FA units
Sadly the Pennsy Alcos & the 616 are no longer with us. I will buy replacements one day!

A Lionel MPC Pennsylvania 2-4-2 with the electronic mighty sound of steam #8141.
Received Christmas morning 1972.
I got an American Flyer S Gauge #283 Pacific in 1955.
HO scale Sante Fe Warbonnet F3/7. I named her Lulubelle.
MR 2338, had a wheel car, crane and operating post office car. I spent hours lifting and moving the wheel sets on and off of the car and watching the mail bag get picked up.
First engine I received as a Christmas present was a Scout 2-4-2. The first engine I bought with my own money in 1957 was a 665 Hudson with 2046 AW tender.
My first train set had a 235 scout engine with tender, a search light car(35__), an explosives boxcar(35__), minute-man missle launcher(355_) and a caboose(6017). I don't remember all the numbers from the set. The set also had a trestle kit with it, #110.
The other trains I was able to run were 224E with three passenger cars, and a 249E with three freight cars.

A Lionel 38 way back in 1947 which I still own.
1946-47 holiday I got a #25000 Marx set with the spoked drivers, spoked but unperforated pilot #999, with Pa. box, NIAC tank, B&O gon, and Reading caboose.
Unfortunately, years later, the water heater broke in my mother's basement when the
set was in its box on the floor. Luckily, my brother's #25249 set with the Baldwin
drivers, NYC box, B&O gon, and NYC caboose, from a couple of years later, was up on a shelf above the flood. These were a lot of kids' first trains, given that I have heard Marx was cranking out 300,000 sets a year at its peak. This after the pleading from
my playing with my cousin's pre-war Lionel set with latch couplers just across the road..I still have his station and water tower, along with the #25249 set.
Lionel 2025 Santa brought it Christmas 1947 as part of a passenger set. I still have it. That was followed up with a 671 as part of the Electronic set Christmas 1948.
My first engine was one of these little Marx Union Pacific M10005 wind-up jobs, back in the 50s. Long gone, but I remember it well. Always had a fondness for the UP, because of this beginning!
Lionel 2025 from 1952. Still got it, still runs great. Wish Williams would make one.
First was an American Flyer S gauge Atlantic. First O-gauge locomotive was a Marx 1829 Hudson.
Lionel 2037 steam engine.

Lionel 2035 which was part of the 1469WS freight set.
For Christmas in 1948 Santa left for me a American Flyer #312 Pennsylvania steam freight set. Thanks, mom and dad.
A pre-war Lionel 1664 steam locomotive (2-4-2) I got as a Christmas present from my grandfather in 1974.

Lionel Milwaukee Road GP7 2338
First train was a Lionel Amtrak passenger set. I believe it had two F3s or Alco diesels and three passenger cars. THis was circa 1993.
A Lionel Pennsylvania Flyer brought me back into O Gauge at Christmas 2004. A few months later, a gift of an MTH PS2 RTR train set got me back into MTH trains and have purchased only MTH engines since.
1956 at the age of 2, LV 627 44 ton, 4 canister gondola, flat car with 3 pipes, one additional box car and caboose.
Marx 898 set, Christmas 1952, cars were 552, 553 and 556
2055 I think I was less than 3 years old when it was put under the tree .
It still runs well and I'm doing OK too for getting too close to 60 this year!
Lionel 2379 Rio Grande f3. got it in 1961 and still have it
A Lionel 1655 2-4-2 Columbia type steam locomotive with its associated freight cars. The set # is 1423W and it was manufactured in 1948. The set was purchased by my dad for Christmas 1948. The engine still runs great and the tinplate style tender still whistles. All of the freight cars are in good shape as well.
1987 nickel plate special boxed starter set.
A Lionel #244 plastic 2-4-2... part of the"Western Gift Pak":

My very first one at the age of 4 was some Marx loco....but it soon went away when Lionel came Christmas age 5.
But my return to O was caused by the MTH Rail King N&W J 611 around 1993. I saw a buddy of mine's and I had to have one....and the switch happened.....
Received a 2344 AA set in 1950.
Set #19244, Christmas 1966. Still have it, the box long gone. The next year, I wanted a train with a light and that "goes backward"... that was the 626. Still have it, too. These always go together in my heart. Bless mom and dad for SO much...
Pre-WWII, it was some kind of Marx. May have had Vanderbilt name on it.
The set including transformer cost $1.98 at McCory's ten cent store
on Lexington St. in Baltimore.

Lionel Scout 1110, Christmas 1949, Kansas City MO. Still runs fine. My Dad never had one, so I got mine at 23 months old. Have original boxes too.
