From experience in this hobby and with technology in general, I am weary of buying 1st generation electronic products. I am trying to determine if an engine I am considering buying, an 0-8-8-0 Steam engine, is worth taking the risk, given that it is already 3-4 years old. It was advertised in 2011 vol. I catalog and delivered end of 2012. I don't know when PS3.0 first came out, but am guessing it was around 2011? Are there any problems with the electronics of the first generation PS3.0 engines, and/or were the sounds improved with the early PS3 engines or did that just happen within the last year or so?
