Going to my First Frost show at Allentown tomorrow. While nowhere near as large as York, still large compared to local shows I've attended so the question is since I'm searching for:

MTH Premier Strasburg #89 3-Rail 4-4-0 Steam Engine, item 20-3172-1 (2005, volume 1 catalog).

Where at the show do you suggest I start searching first to have the best chance of snagging it there? Any special booths or dealers likely lo carry an item such as this? Your advice, suggestions and opinions are most welcome.

Thanks,

Kenn

The prefix 20 is used by MTH to signify a premier engine. They use the prefix 30 for Railking.

well lets see...

as you enter the hall and go through the daoors, stay to your right. that's Beth of Public delivery track.

If not there then go into the next hall

In front you should see the OGR booth.

two isles over on the right is trains & things.

IF not there then follow the outer walls on the right and then work your way in and out of each isle.

After passing the OGR booth again with no luck, go back to the previous hall and zig zag through those isles.

I hope this helps.

I'm not sure how much time you have to spend at Allentown. The show is small enough that you can see most ot the tables in a few hours. Also large enough that there is a good chance you will find what your looking for.

I simply ask for the item at the tables that display items similar to what you specifically want. Don't be shy.  Often if a vendor does not have it they can point you to a booth that may have it. I find the Allentown dealers to be very friendly and helpful. It is my favorite show next to York.

Gryzboski Trains is carrying more and more MTH items of late.  I would definetly check with them. They are also doing a show in Pittsburg the same week end as Allentown so I would imagine they will not have as much on display as they did at York.
