Good afternoon everyone

I just rebuilt this Lionel NYC Dreyfuss Hudson item 6-28084 with a puffer smoke unit on board, and boy oh boy we are puffing smoke now. When I opened this unit up believe it or not the resistor was in great shape. As for the batting in the smoke unit and around the resistor that was really bad. So I changed all of that and also drilled out the air exhaust holes one size larger and a beautiful improvement. I'm also posting these video's because this is a really beautiful engine, I must get my hands on a NYC Dreyfuss Hudson someday. Thanks for looking, and have a wonderful day

Hi Guys thanks

Sam I already packed and wrapped up the engine and tender back in the box. I'm sorry I wont' be able to do another video.

Joe the first video is the before, and the second and third are the after

.

POTRZBE I looked up your item number, it has a puffer unit, but I don't know if it has a resistor. So I'm not sure if it can be done

Thanks again, Alex

Huge improvement Alex.
You posting all the smoke unit upgrades inspired me to upgrade mine.  This past weekend I took care of my LionMaster Cab-Forward and a K-Line Tank Engine.  I'm very happy and the difference is huge.

This video here gives me high hopes for my Lionel Commodore Vanderbilts(NYC and Lionel Lines). They both have a wisp of smoke like your first video.  I will have to get at them soon.

Thanks for posting these smoke unit upgrades so everyone can see the difference.
