Very good review. I agree with your assement of Lionel. The color is too bright for me and the detail on the MTH is better. Like the plate attaching to the tender and the back up lights on MTH. Dislike the Lionel whistle hole. They should change that.

Great on the April visit to York. I am skipping October and will be there in April. Hopefully we can meet up with you.

Your assessment was spot on.  Looks like Lionel phoned this one in.  Details, paint, tender, and smoke hole.  Usually they try to hide it under the whistle at least..  Lionel did have a whistle where it actually came out of the decorative whistle at least once.  My guess is they re-used the tooling.
