It might seem like a ride, but NJ Hirailers is about 1hr up. I drive at least that to get there. As do a lot of other members. Well worth the trip. Don't know if you have been there or not. If this interests contact me or one of the other members to come check it out. .
bigdog;
I recommend you look into the NJ Highrailers.
You are just over an hour away and it's a world class group and layout.
Website: HiRailers
I too would like to get a club going in my area (NH Seacoast) but had no luck. So I joined the Maine 3 Railers.
Bigdogjeff1,
I live in the area, do 3 rail and am interested.
What is your contact info?
Gp for the NJ HiRailers, Great group, See Ben Fioriello
The NJ hirailers is a great club with a huge permanent layout run by nice folks but if Patterson is too far of a drive for you and if you want a conventional O gauge modular RR club in Central Jersey (closer to you), the Raritan Valley Hi-Railers are a short drive.
Info rvhirailer1@gmail.com You can also find them on Facebook
As for myself, I run a one man O gauge model railroad called the Hill Lines in my basement in Neshanic. Its not a club but you are welcome to see it.
The Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders www.ocsmr.com is located in Lakewood, N. J. We have both O gauge and HO gauge layouts in the basement of a church where we've been for almost 25 years. Bern a member for almost 15 years. Great club!!
My daughter lives and teaches in Hamilton and is close to the Jersey valley ho club there.
I live near Trenton, Michigan so I was getting ready to answer. Oh well . . . .
