I am slowly building a 36 by 78 door layout using 0-31 curves, NW-2 for motive power and few short scale cars (3 or 4 plus caboose). Who makes ready made tunnels (single portal) that is not junk , MTH ?
Tiffany - MTH makes a tunnel ( both curved and straight ) that may fit your layout. I had one and it is light years better than any styrofoam tunnel. Because I wanted to build a more detailed layout with a huge tunnel, I no longer had use for it so I sold it at a show. You may want to check their website for a catalogue.

Best of luck with your layout.

Hello Patrick.
Is the MTH tunnel well made, I mean good construction ? made of heavy plastic or paper ? I was thinking of getting the curved one to put on the corner of the layout .
I have the The MTH straight tunnel. It is 30 inches long,18 inches wide and is wide enough for two trains. It is made of a resin type material and is very heavy. It is also very nicely detailed. It is one of the nicest production tunnels.I have seen the curved version on a 036 curved layout and it is the same quality and detail .This tunnel is quite heavy so shipping could be expensive.I think MTH still lists them for sale on their web site.
