Pretty much what I expected, thanks for the factual feedback as to what is actually available.  I wasn't getting much from the fantasy reports earlier.

I didn't see any 2-8-0's. They had one 3r Black Diamond (production #1) for $850. The salesman was trying to talk me into it (I think if my current layout would have O-54 or wider curves, it would have). They had 2r versions for sale as well, but I don't remember the price.

I didn't see any of the other items you asked about.

The trucks were $20 a pair, or came with the $38 freight cars, and you had to install them. There were some freight cars for less than $38 (I bought one for $15, and another for $5 [which was missing the plastic piece to mount the trucks to]), which I had to buy trucks separate for.

As for electronics, I have no idea. I did see they had smoke units for $20 or $25 each, but I had no use for them since I couldn't see them.

I also saw a lot of plastic locomotive shells for $5 each, along with steam engine and tender shells for an unknown amount.

My deal of the day I think was one of the huge bags of decals for $2. I couldn't see what was in there, but the first one I pulled out was perfect for a caboose I want to do. I also got several sets of Reading Decals (Crusader?), along with some UP and other lines.

They probably don't have any of those anyhow.

They did get a shipment in recently, but I don't know what is left. I ordered 20 pairs for a fellow forum member and had the shipped direct.

It really was. I'm kinda kicking myself for not buying more. Another good deal (at least I thought) was the passenger car seats interior for $3 each. I don't have anything they would fit, or I would have bought a bunch.

The passenger car seats would have been a good buy at that price.

Scott,

What time are you going to be there? I'll probably leave home at eight, and arrive around nine or shortly after. Joe told me there was quite a bit of stuff left. Not sure what that includes, but if there are any junkers left in the scrap box, I'll be looking to get some shells to practice weathering.

Don

No. No problem with shells but when I left, there was a whole box of b60 psrts- mostly light boards mail bag hooks, glass for doors, electronic boards for the leds. There was one box with a b60 frame wheels no couplers and the mounted board. Weaver wanted $20.00 for it. I passed.

Sale will end at 1:00 PM.  Still many freight cars, several Boston & Maine Pacifics (3 Rail), a number of 2 rail cars, locos (3 or 4 Black Diamonds, 2 rail only), numerous parts and several prototypes.  Also, photos, lanterns, signed paintings , body shells, and as I  said earlier, parts, parts and parts.  A great opportunity for scratch builders. At least one Hiawatha (3 rail) still there.

Our trip today was fun. We started out at 4am from Pittsburgh. We all found many things to bring home. Was well worth the trip. We also stopped at 5 or 6 train shops on the way home. I pulled back in my driveway at 8;30 pm. Happy I went. Fun Day

Tomorrow to Patrick's Trains in Wheeling WA  have to pick up some cars that came in.

I just got home (rode with DOC) myself a little while ago.  Really enjoyed the trip and picked up a box full of stuff myself.  Definitely worth the 3.5+ hour drive out, and the hobby shops we visited after were just icing on the cake (picked up some more stuff at 3 out of the 4 we visited ).

Here are some pix of the last shop which is located in an ex-Reading station in Palmyra, PA:

Just back; it was 8 hrs round trip for me.  Left in late afternoon-- to answer Scott's question, believe I saw an (well, more than one) Interstate (2-bay? ...yes); ok Interstate does stick in my mind as black with the one word in white... there were a lot of 2-bay road names.  Definitely New England Coal & Coke, which is also black with white lettering.  I went needing a repair part for a very early diesel, and luckily found it; the parts for more recent engines are very extensive.

Basically most of what was in the Spring flyer for freight cars was there.  There were a lot of car names and a lot of car types.  These are boxed minus trucks and couplers-- you are given a pair of trucks and couplers (metal) and screws which you install (easy, just takes a little time).  Looks like you will find X car type in Y road name more likely than not.  There is also a small selection of unboxed painted (and unpainted in some cases).  Some, maybe a lot, of the different cars come in several different road numbers.  Really set out clearly for the hobbyist.

[Edited to remove the driving directions due bridge repair Saturday on I-83 @ 10th St H'burg to save space; it's now moot.]

I just got back a few minutes ago. I got a Lehigh Northeast caboose kit, some plastic trucks, some stacked sides to convert a 2 bay hopper to a wood chip car, some Weaver stickers and a plastic sign.

Wood chip cars were limited to UP SP and New Haven. Scott, I didn't see any Interstate hoppers, and Joe wasn't sure if there were any. Jini5, there were passenger interiors, but I wasn't sure if anyone else had contacted you, so with funds being very limited, I didn't pick any up. I can probably arrange it with Joe to get some if you're still interested.

Everything left after one PM this afternoon will go to auction. There were several rows of shelves with various rolling stock, still several B&M Pacifics for $750. This was one of the engines I showcased at the TCA museum a few years ago, a real beauty. One remaining 2 rail New Haven I-4 for $500, which I would have jumped on had I the capital. This is the finest locomotive Weaver made.

There were lots of diesel trucks, frames, shells, motors, wiring and boards, and several of Joe's display engines. Also for sale were several pieces of art and other RR related items, and some hand tools.

I also went dumpster diving, as the scrap boxes had been relegated there. I joined another fellow in search of some shells I could practice weathering. I have no shame!

All the equipment was sold, as confirmed by Joe, but the entity will remain anonymous until the buyer deems it the appropriate time to make an announcement. Joe and Vickie and Theresa I said our final goodbyes at about 11:30. I still can't fully grasp this whole thing. Joe said he and Vickie were going on vacation. I hope they both enjoy life after weaver Models.

I wasn't going to go down to Northumberland today, but got up around 8am and got ready and left. It's only about 55 miles from Lewistown. I'am sorry I didnt check the Forum before I left, I could have picked some things up for some of you..Again sorry. Freight Cars were $35.00 today, still had a good selection left. lots of H-30 Hoppers left. Quite a few Water Tanks for $50.00 and Row Houses for $40.00. Lots of Parts, Books, Pictures in frames, Sample Steam Engines. I did get two, 2 bay hopper cars and coal loads for them. The one coal load had Sample from 2009 on the underside. Got to wish Joe and his wife, A Happy Retirement....Glad I did go..
