I've been admiring these cars for a while now and would love to get one. MTH says they need O54 curves. I only have O42 and O31 loops. Has anyone had experience with running these long cars on O42 (I don't care about overhang, I just don't want it to derail)? Thanks.

I don't have any O42 curves, but I did just test one of mine on O36 and it wouldn't cleanly negotiate it. I think it may negotiate O42, but I can't say so with any certainty.
Yeah they'll do O-36. Really bad overhang (over all three rails) but if you have the clearance you can do it.
I've always had to run these cars at the rear of trains to prevent stringlining.
