I'm considering purchasing a subject engine and would like to know what you think about the overall quality relative to details,scale size, and running. If I get I plan to upgrade to ERR electronics.

Those early Williams steamers, Hudson's, streamlined k4's, b&o Pacific all were missing the flywheel so starts and stops maybe jerky.
I have this loco. They, and the Dreyfuss version, are just fine so far as they go. Not up to later Wms brass standards (different builder); a bit delicate. The flywheel is no big deal - better if you have one, but ERR Cruise Commander can handle that lack.
In other words - they're like an old Fiat 124 two-seater - if you are careful and understand their weaknesses they can be a bargain. The boiler detail is good. Add a little skirting on the high-pockets tender.
Not for kids, if you want them to stay together. Adults - no problem.
