Quick question:
Shouldn't all Williams passenger cars have a "Williams" logo stamped on the underside and not a Made in China sticker? Specifically their M-105 Broadway Limited set of six cars in PRR Tuscan Red?

Some of the aluminum copies of post war Lionel streamlined cars only had W.R.L. embossed on the inside of the truck frame.

So, post post war were made in CHINA?
No
I bought these from a forum member that said, "He bought them over 20 years ago, straight from Williams, but only displayed them."
There are "Made in China" stickers on some of the cars, many of the wheels wouldn't turn until I lubed them and still do not roll very well compared to anything else I have. The car bodies look good but the wheel sets (side frames, etc...) are pure junk. One car even had the pick-up roller assembly loose from the truck. I had to snap it back on.
Look at the 7 ounce weight I found flopping all over the place inside the hind car? Only displayed, huh?
So I'm perfectly clear - This set of Williams cars were never made in China?

After 20 years or so, it's not surprising that the glue that held that in place might have let go. The key is looking at the wheels, it's pretty easy to tell if a set has been run for any length of time.

Would Williams have glued a weight inside one car? Back to my China question please...Has this set ever been made in China?

There were no weights in the other cars? That would be strange. FWIW, that weight sure looks like weights that I've taken out of steam boilers, not passenger cars. As for made in China, I don't know where that particular set might have been manufactured. The writing on the box sure looks like the same stuff I see on Chinese made stuff. With the China stickers, it would seem the set was indeed made in China.

I opened another car and yes there is a weight in it. But China?

How about a couple of good photos of the truck from the bottom?
The M105 part number first appears (as best I can find) in the 1992 Flyer advertising a whole new array of passenger car sets. The first time 6 cars sets were sold I also believe. You certainly have a Made in China master carton. This is probably about the time everyone was switching from Korea to China.
