20-20271-1, SD70ACE has pin #6 (brown wire to smoke unit resistors) out of the connector. The wire separated from the pin. I extracted the pin from the connector, but can not reattach the wire to the pin - very small pin. The wiring diagram says that either pin 6 or 8, or both pins 6 and 8 are to be connected to the smoke unit resistors. I do not want to burn anything up - can the smoke unit run with just one wire?
Or - does anyone have a piece of wire with the pin attached that I can obtain? Some techs take non-used pins with a small piece of wire out of the 40 pin connector to use them in just such a case.
Yes - the pins can be extracted from the connector - just be careful.
