I picked up a reissue of the 497 coal loader last week. I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work w/ the old dumpcars ( the pre 1970 ones w/o the magnet)
The instructions don't seem to mention anything about. Any help would be appreciated

Did you check out this addendum? Seems to be a rewire for the cars that you have.

Also, a rewiring is mentioned in the service documents.
Didn't see that - I think that will work 
The second link is for the MPC version, which is what I had before, but it's wired differently than the newer one.
