I'm going to convert a post war Lionel steam locomotive from conventional to TMCC control. From looking everything over, all of the electronics are going to have to be placed in the tender, which is not a problem.

My question is does anyone have an idea on how to build a good wire thither to connect the locomotive and the tender? I've tried checking the forum and haven't been able to locate any topics on this subject.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Erica Ann, I use the MTH 10-pin tethers for my upgrades.  They come in either straight or 90 degree versions, and there is a matching 10-pin connector for the locomotive.  This is a MUCH nicer looking tether than the ERR affair.

MTH Tethers

GRJ,

After figuring out the correct spelling for tether  I did do a search of the forums and was looking at those same tethers. Looks like the 90 degree version would work for this application. Does the tether include the matching 10-pin male connector when ordering from MTH or is it a separate part?
