My wish is for the safety and a pleasant (no tickets or fender-benders, of course!) traveling experience for the whole OGR team that re-constructs that display in the Orange Hall every York TCA Meet. And please, pace yourselves (Are you reading this, Ed?) as you do all that carrying and construction. Try to rest, too, by taking breaks, even if they are just mini-breaks.

Also, permit me to say, I am sincerely going to miss seeing Bill Parisi walk by my booth with his usual, warm hello. God Bless all of you.

Thanks for the kind words, Frank. We are ALL going to miss Bill. York will not be the same without him.

You should have posted this earlier...it may have helped.

OGR Ad man Alan Arnold and his wife hit a deer somewhere in Missouri. They are fine, but the car is totaled. Alan has other transportation options available and will still be able to join us at York.

Jim Barrett was all set to go and found a big transmission leak when he fired up his car to head for York. He will have to rent a car to get there!

I haven't left yet and these things come in threes...

I too wish you all the very best. I hope things these unfortunate things do not occur in 3's. Of course, Jim is probably fortunate to have found the leak BEFORE he left for York.

BTW, it was a real pleasure to get to spend some time with Alan at the Lionel Open House this summer after communicating with him on the Forum. He is a great addition.

I'm sorry Allan cannot be there and I wish him the best with his pooch.

Enough. Time for us all to get there and have fun --- buzz or no buzz, and I'm gonna get a buzz at Thursday at Fridays.

Actually, Gerry, my pooch is probably doing better than I am at the present time since I was diagnosed with a kidney stone (my eighth) last Wednesday.  Even if the pooch was doing well, travel would be pretty much out of the question until after my appointment with a urologist later this month.

But my best wishes to all who are attending.  I will certainly miss seeing and talking with you folks, and just having a few days to relax and enjoy the meet.

It will seem strange to visit the OGR booth and not see Bill Parisi holding court. I always enjoyed my chats with Bill as we discussed photography, trains and yes back issues.

My brother Alan also suffers from kidney stones Allan so I wish you the best in resolving these painful attacks. As a good friend reminded me as we grow older and suffer from kidney stones and gall stones, welcome to the stone age!

Take a train there?

I am very happy to report that, from my vantage point very near the OGR booth in the Orange Hall, I often observed Rich, Jim, Ed, and George walking by, and they appeared to do so jauntily and with relaxed ease. Nobody seemed fatigued or exhausted. So, good job guys getting sufficient rest and pacing yourselves!
