I'm looking for cars to go with my 4-4-0 Early 1900 style. Wood kits, ready made, or? Thanks,Jim

Walther's clerestoried kit cars, also sold as All Nation, and factory cars from MTH. Also kits from La Belle, Hawk, and assorted other obscure and defunct kitmakers, such as JC and American Standard Car Co. ASC and La Belle are alive and well, l think. More old kits than l can think of, were made, and l think Lionel made some open platforms, too. Some of these are hard to find, not Walther's and AN, but if three rail the usual brands, no problem...kits problem..finding the trucks.
MTH Premier has produced 1890s-style wood-sided passenger cars. Forum sponsor Public Delivery Track may still have some in stock. Lionel has purchased the tooling for these cars and is offering them in its current catalog. Labelle Woodworking makes kits.

Yes Labelle still makes them and there are few kits and built ups on ebay now.

PDT has a few lettered ones, but I think I got the last 2 of those unlettered coaches (tried to add 3 to cart, said I could only add 2). The Lionel Preorders are up too. Shame they got the cars, I was looking forward to a couple unlettered baggage cars and at least 1 each of other carbodies.
You've not specified the size of your 4-4-0, some of those older Lionel "wild west" cars might fit the bill...
