I've never seen one of those cars in action before. All I can say is "WOW"
There's a post here about someone wanting to add TMCC controls to it, cool idea.

I think it needs a Super-Chuffer board and turbine whine... http://youtu.be/WNNZyl4l4f8
Is that Lionel or an MTH?
The snow blower is a Lionel. Whatever's causing it to blow that much smoke...is probably a user modification.

I have the idea of putting smoke in one of the rotary ones to simulate snow coming out, I have the unit, just haven't done the smoke yet.
That's an absolutely huge amount of smoke being generated. Its looks real nice but it presents a lung cancer risk.
Man !! That is a good smoke
Brent
Dennis, it's not really "smoke", I'm not sure what real risk there is.

Maybe so but look at it this way. If you decided to breath only the stuff that the jet engine puts out, would it be healthy? Whether its hazmat material or not I don't know but I've got my scale Hudson a chugging smoke!! Let's hope that the hard core environmentalists don't get wind of what we are doing, or the smoke fluid labels will need to be rewritten to say "have oxygen masks ready when you use this compound".
I hope it doesn't come to that.

We lived in South Florida when I was a kid. We used to ride our bikes in the cloud of smoke......(????) behind the mosquito foggers. So I'm probably dead already. I'm not going to worry about a little vapor from a train smoke unit..................... If your're putting your lips over the stack and huffing..............well that might be quite different.

Ok, since you did, I'll fess up, too. I did the same thing until my eyes burned. heffin' up DDT couldn't be good, but I am still here.
This is what it looks like when you fry a smoke unit on a conventional unit. Not quite as much fun as the guy with the make believe Donner Pass layout.
that is an auto track oiler. he must have to clean track everytime he uses it.
I always run my engine with smoke spewin' as best it can! I applaud the guy who posted this thread and the "layout meister".
I have to say I like the diesel sounds and the dog better than the sno-blower.
A lot of Mega-Steam Power.
Does anyone recognize this clip and know if user90gb posts on this forum? Hopefully, he/she will then let us know if their secret to such great smoking involved just using JT's Megasteam or if they did a mod to their jet snowblower. (Apparently this https://www.youtube.com/watch?...qBp-t2kQBaYlZqTYkFLw is an earlier post by user90gb of this same snowblower but using a a different smoke fluid. It's truly amazing if only switching to Megasteam's smoke fluid (and no other mod) is responnsible for the increased smoke of user90gb's clip at the beginning of this thread's post.)
BTW, I want to add tmcc to a jet snowblower car like this one so I can turn the smoke and sounds on and off remotely like I do with my tmcc equipped Lionel hotbox reefer car.
Has anyone successfully added ERR's hotbox card to this jet snowblower car? I called Ken at ERR about this mod. While he's had no experience with the jet snowblower car, he said that possibly the same accessory board ERR sells for Lionel's hotbox reefer car might also work for the jet snowblower car but he can't guarantee it as he's not familiar with how the jet snowblower's on/off switch is wired to its sound card and smoke unit.
Lots of smoke up in here on this forum. LOL
Speaking of smoke. My new CSX Chessie AC6000 lays out a pretty fair amount herself. I realize this is not prototypical of a modern green locomotive, but hey, it still looks impressive and boy that diesel oil sure smells great. LOL

That sure is a lot of smoke! Looks awesome! I thought I could smoke up a room pretty good, mine is nothing compared to that. Makes you wander what scent he choose.

We'll have to get cracking on those locomotives and get them smokin' properly.
That would definitely drive me out of the layout room.

Wow! That's a lot of smoke! No matter what you opinion this guy is having FUN! and that's the name of game. I enjoyed the video. Cute dog too.
Amazing to watch on video, but that would actually KILL me if I were in the room.
Personally I like smoke but daughter always complains it is no good for her children. And as usual wife agrees with daughter.
GRJ: I will have do more doubleheading!

Well I'd bet that smoke unit has been tweaked. I have one and it smokes ok, but not like THAT one................... I'll have to play with it. I bought it for some kind of kit-bash. the cab is slightly melted above smoke unit.
Yeah, it has to be modified. I have two of them, they barely smoke, very light trail of smoke comes out of the jet engine end. My 5 yr old son really likes to play with them, but in two years, both back to Lionel for no smoke, and one stopped smoking a few days ago. Nevertheless, the video is impressive!
