i am working on a trolley track for my layout
using lionel 0-27 track - and -
need a "Y" that is compatible with the 0-27
do you have any suggestions

Just as a point of info, what you are looking for is called a "wye."
Why (no pun intended) not use 027 switches. Since it is a trolley line you can create a "wye" easily. If you want a "wye" turnout then Ross has one although the radius may be 042 at the smallest. Otherwise Super Streets had a "wye" that was the only turnout available for a long time.
I think Ross has an O-31.

Call Ross after 3:00 pm EST and talk with Steve. I'd be extremely surprised if they were unable to make one for you. It likely will be more expensive than their cataloged sizes; but if 027 is what you need....
I'm not sure how it would work using the typical O gauge nomenclature (O-27, O-31, etc.), but in other scales that use the frog number to identify the switch, a number 6 turnout's radius is half the radius used for a number 6 Wye, since both legs are curved in a Wye, while only one is curved in a turnout, but the diveraging angle is the same.

Ross/gargraves is nearly the same height as 027. Its close enough to work without shims, just use the conversion pins and put a ross wye in where you need it.
