What kind of spacing is best for a yard layout with a 4 way Ross switch I.e., how much space between tracks??

If these are storage tracks then 3.5" between center rails is sufficient. Ross makes transition curves (TR35) for several that spacing. You would need two; one for each outside track. The inside tracks are already spaced at 3.5".

I believe the center two tracks are set at 3.5" center to center. Additional tracks can be set at 3.5" or wider. 3.5" looks great. If you want to get your fingers in between the cars to fix derailments you may need at least 4.5".
