Yeah, I think one of the great things was seeing Allan and Alan at breakfast.it is hard for them to have time to do anything as both can attest. We teased Alan that he used up all the maple syrup in 2018 which wasn't true, we put a huge dent in it before it got over to him, lol.

I had met Allan and Mike Reagan at Mercer Junction Train Shoppe in Mercer, Pennsylvania when Lionel was still in Canton, and Mike came in to show off Legacy controllers.  I was glad to meet Rich, Rich's wife, and Ed at York.  I had Alan in my sights twice, but lost him in the crowd.

PS, I actually met the editor of that other magazine at none other then the Round The Clock Diner on my first trip to York in 2017.

I haven't missed a York since 1993. But we are now snowbirds, and the scheduling is a bit different. I would have missed the Spring, 2020 York because of a cruise, but the cruise didn't happen.

I started going to York to buy trains. And it was that way for many years. I bought a lot of trains. Now I need to get rid of a bunch of them. Anyway, somewhere along the line my purpose in going to York shifted and it is now about friendships. But if I see something I want, I can buy it. I don't know if the Spring Yorks will be worthwhile with the cutbacks. I anticipate more changes for the Spring Yorks.

I very much miss friends who have passed (Marty & Barry among others) for many reasons, but that is how I used to spend Wednesdays. Museum in the morning, lunch at Isaacs, whatever in the afternoon and then the DCS dinner. The bandit shows may come back, but I doubt it. And Lionel isn't even attending in the Spring. It's because of people like me who buy less. The world changes.

Arnold and Melgar, you have no right to complain about missing Alan and Allan. You could have had a great time interacting with them at the OGR 50th birthday party at the NJHR (Paterson, NJ) last October. It was well publicized on the Forum, and not a terribly difficult ride for you guys.
