Initially I was quite annoyed that the dealer halls would be opened to the public but the member halls would not.  Since I volunteer in the Silver hall I could not get to the Saturday member meeting to find out why.  On reflection I believe there will be some benefit to sellers in the member halls and to TCA members as well.  Many members cannot go during the week but do not come on Saturday because some start packing up around noon.  In April, however members can come Saturday morning and walk the member halls and then go to the dealer halls to enjoy a full day show.

Will those of you who don't come on Saturday be tempted to change your mind?

Of course the reason some members pack up early is because so few people are in the halls.  If there are buyers we will stay until midnight!.  I don't start packing until around 1:30 and I have 8 tables of trains to pack.

First, a sincere thank-you for volunteering and making the meet the great event it is!

Second, while my usual routine is to attend the meet on Thursday and Friday, there are some meets where I can only attend on one day either due to work or other commitments as a parent and sports coach.  In this scenario, I never would consider going on Saturday due to the halls closing early and vendors packing up early.  With the change in April, I now would consider going on a Saturday if I could only go for one day.

If I stay overnight, I would still go Thursday and Friday due to the social events I enjoy attending Thursday night and Friday during the day.
