I have always wanted to go to York for obvious reasons. I was jut wondering how many here come away from York with a find or purchase, or felt things were not in their price range, or the selection not being there? I cannot imagine coming away empty handed. Is there a good selection of Prewar trains and accessories?

On Thursday I found all the items on my acquisition list, plus more items that I had to pass up. And this was on the first day.

On Friday, being more cautious, I found two K-Line Heinz Box Cars in the 1920's era for my MTH 4-Truck Shay engine. Now, when the Long Island MTH Passenger cars show up, I can finally put together my consist.

As an old timer told me a long time ago, do you homework, make up your list and try to stick to it, if possible, and be reasonable to the dealer(s) in trying to make a cash deal, always be polite because the next day the dealer(s) may be willing to negotiate a better deal.

Also, help the newbees as they can spend all there money without a second thought.

Lastly, be polite. It always helps.

I had no list, just cash. So whatever was IR equipped I was interested in.

Also , purchased (and met) were a Legacy-CD, what turned out to be "a great salesman-super glue", some laser-cut elevated walkways for an engine house, a $5-dollar MTH good-buddy club, dinner with another forum/club-nice folks , great meeting with Alan Arnold, who convinced me to start posting again; a thank you to Steve Berniesen(sp?) for fixing a double cross-over, pickup of a lot of 2500Cs exchanged with Dennis Zander, fun but LONG long roadtrip with Jim (IBEW) Williams, Howard B. and Leonard H.

Last day, I did pick up a LNL N&W YB6 and boxes of MTH N&W Pass cars for it.

Wanted: an MTH's WiFi box; but both were out-of-reach and a Legacy GG1; it too was out-of-reach!
