Change for Bathrooms: I was a member of the Agricultural Fair Association of New England for many years. The bathroom attendants at most fairgrounds, including the ones I was associated with, are not paid employees, but day workers who aren't afraid to work or get dirty.  The people who replace the toilet paper and towels, clean the water off the sinks and floors, unstop the plugged toilets, etc., do not get paid by the fairgrounds or TCA. The tips we leave are their only compensation for the jobs they do.

Important to see clarified again, Dotty. Thank you for the reminder.

I have always kept one particular pocket possessed of dollar bills specifically for this purpose and don't begrudge contributing any of it.

RE:  The restroom attendants.  Not only are these folks efficient, but they also are among the most friendly and outgoing people you'll find anywhere on the fairgrounds.  Really a great bunch of folks.  I always leave a $1 tip each time I use the facility (which isn't very often).  They take care of a job on a large scale that I hate doing at home on a much smaller scale.
