I miss the many threads about weather for York week. I take clothes for cold or hot temps. It is always a good idea to bring a few large trash bags with you to protect trains heading to your car if it is raining.

Looks like 71 on Thursday, 66 on Friday and 65 on Saturday with some rain.
Thanks David.
Yep....I think David is correct....looks like rain from what our maps are showing....

When i was a kid and you went to the Jersey shore in the summer, the weather forecast NEVER said rain. It was "cloudy", there was a "chance" of precipitation, it was "overcast".
I think that's a good philosophy for York. It's always GREAT, and the weather is maybe sometimes just a little bit cloudy -- but bring the umbrella.

I guess I'd prefer rain over snow
(Dry would be nice)
The best weather report I heard a few years ago was, Flurries today, Yes we got a foot of flurries that day. Never forget that one.
Having trashbags for the possibility of rain is a good idea, Marty. As I recall, last Spring York's Friday forecast for "a period of brief late afternoon intermittant showers" turned into something more than that. Was more like a steady and at times downpour, especially when leaving and driving eastbound on the PA turnpike.
Weather forecasting (especially a week away), albeit vastly improved from years gone by is still not an exact science.
I could not find York climate on a quick search. Did find Harrisburg, PA. It appears that Harrisburg gets about 108 days of Sunshine per year. Pretty good chance it will be cloudy and maybe wet. Having just returned from the great South West you have to appreciated the green and definite lack of crop circles. I would venture a guess that still most farming in PA is done without irrigation. Recent trip/hike of the Grand Canyon was the hottest I've ever done. A true appreciation for sun ray incident angle and shade, much different here in PA. 3 weeks back in PA, I think I have most of the dust out of my ears. That first rain storm was a true delight. We did have an overcast day hiking out to the North rim of the Canyon. Talking to people who spent the rain event on the North Rim, apparently it rained all night. None of that rain made it to any of the trail we hiked out on. A lot of Great South West rain, never makes the ground.
Enough wasted internet space this morning.

Lake Mead/Hoover Dam could use an easy additional 120 ft of water. Note the bath-tub ring. From the O'Callaghan, Tillman bridge observation deck.
I like the trash bag idea, Marty. I would not have thought of that.
Regardless of the weather, Im wearing shorts and a hoodie.
This was what 10 minutes (as I walked from Red Hall to Orange Hall) of light afternoon rain looked like in April

For myself, I always bring a change of clothes including socks, dry shoes, and an umbrella. I always try to be prepared.

Here is your forecast for October 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th 2014
The various halls will be dry and flatulent with isolated halitosis.
There is an increased chance of garlic breath later in the day for all 4 days and a risk of BO by the weekend.
Scattered foot odor is also a possibility.

It is likely that the weather at York will be in the 60's during the day and possibly in the mid 40's in the evening. If it rains then its umbrella time. The weather doesn't bother me one bit. When the going gets tough, the tough get going!
cant see it from my house
