So, is there anything in the area to keep my wife interested?

You could buy her a brand new Harley at the nearby factory.
Let her go to Tanger Outlets in Lancaster,Pa. Here is their site,

In Lancaster, about 30 minutes east....
Tanger Outlets*
Rockvale Outlets*
Sight and Sound Theater*
Choo Choo Barn
Lunch at Isaac's Deli*
Strasburg Railroad ride to Paradise (Pa)
PA Railroad Museum
A walk thru Strasburg, Bird in Hand, etc
Antiques at Cackleberry Farms (big place!)*
Kitchen Kettle Village (food, shopping, crafts, etc.)*
Shoe House between Lancaster and York on Rt 30
Lotsa good stuff!

My wife enjoys quilting, sewing, and other needlework type crafts. Her favorite shopping is in Intercourse, PA at "The Old Country Store" for fabric and projects, and the shops in Kitchen Kettle Village. Especially "Village Quilts" shop.
What does your wife like to do?
Leave her at home?
Seriously the outlets?
And a short way to the West on 30 is Gettysburg -- lots of history and antique stores!

Give here the keys to the car, slip her a few hundred and send her off to Lancaster. Its only a 35 minute drive East on Rt 30. Tell her to come back to the fairgrounds at 5 PM. There are hundreds of outlets stores on Rt 30 in Lancaster. That should make her happy.

That's my advise, don't bring her
My advice, leave the anchor at home.
Boy oh boy. Some of you guys are so crude! You should have your wife accompany you through the halls. Doing things together will bring you closer to each other.
Just have her walk two steps behind you to your right and be ready to carry your purchases to the car.
The Cackleberry Antique Mall, and the National Christmas Center, are both in Paradise, PA...practically next to each other on Rt.30. Paradise is not far from Strasburg. I'll stop at both places next week.
My wife visited the fairgrounds with me a year ago. Before that she went off to the mall or outlets near Lancaster.
She told me not to bother with getting her a badge this time (saved me a few bucks) as she's going shopping elsewhere (there goes my "savings").
My wife went on the tour at the Harley Davidson factory and had a great time! Then she went quilt shopping. Affordable at the "3rd Rail" brass price-point. Of course you could always buy her that boxed Lionel Girl Set that Santa stiffed her on back in 1957.
My wife did enjoy the Harley tour a few years ago, even posed for a photo on one of the Sportsters afterward. "This is really cool!" she said, then added "You're still not getting one."
We have enjoyed other side trips to local farms, museums, and even a cavern.

Boy, some of you guys don't read well, do you? The OP was asking what he could do FOR his wife.....not 'to' her... or 'with' her, as if she were excess baggage!
My reading comprehension of the title question says the OP loves his wife, is pleased to have her make the trip with him. However, she's apparently not into shuffling through miles of arrow-marked aisles throughout acres of floor space amidst wild-eyed stares and cryptic mumblings from the quasi-hygienic crowd viewing endless piles of loose and boxed toy trains.......endless. Nope, she has her own interests...he knows that...he's trying to help her find as much fun and pleasure in the York day(s) as he will have...and he's hoping others so happily 'enspoused' can be of help to the both of them.
EddieM, NHBill, et al.....
Brian....I may be the one walking a couple steps behind....carrying her purchases. (My wife is REALLY into the York meet....sometimes outspending me!) And re "Doing things together will bring you closer to each other."...
IMHO, of course....

My wife liked roaming the halls as much as I did, but she likes trains and the hobby. She wouldn't even consider staying home or being left out..... and I wouldn't even ask.
It's too bad they just this meet eliminated the busses to the shopping malls and outlet malls.
My wife's favorite place is Browns Orchard & Farm which is about 10 miles south of York in Loganville. Just follow South George Street which turns into Susquehanna Trail.

Some of us have a sense of humor but you must of left yours at home. Oh well as long as you brought your wife.
Obligatory smiley face to show that I was sharing some humor...
Maybe your wife would like a nice day spa? She can relax and be pampered, you can go through the halls at your leisure, and meet up later for a nice dinner together.

Best suggestion yet. Although about $200., she may have spent that at the outlets anyway. Google spas in York.
If you have kids too, set them up at Hershey Pa for the day. They can do all sorts of stuff while you are at the York meet. No kids, tell her bring a girl freind... Women, kids and chocolate together, while they are having a blast, so are you.
Here's the wife's answer.
Stay in a nice hotel, go to nice local places to eat (no fast food), plan in advance at least one thing to do , such as Sight and Sound Theater, a dinner theater, a trip to Strasburg, and there's always great things to do in Lancaster. There are several shopping outlets and lots of markets.
I'm the one walking 2 steps behind and carrying small purchases. I'm also the one on lookout for whatever we might be searching for this trip.
We enjoy going to York together and have been making the 12+ hour trip for many years. We plan our stops along the way to enjoy attractions that we research in advance or are recommended to us by others we meet at York. One especially beautiful attraction is the Shenandoah Valley which is a beautiful drive this time of year.
Hope this helps you plan a wonderful trip to York for you and your wife.
My sweetie walks through the meet with me, often noticing things that I missed. And then she volunteers to carry items back to the car while I continue looking. (And I swear I'm not making this up!)
She would probably be willing to train other wives.
