I may get a little flak for this, but I've never liked the look of the 400e pulling the Blue Comet set. It just looks too big for those cars, I know the set was originally designed to run with the 390, but that looks a bit too small.

I've seen some pictures of Blue Comet schemed 392's, which seems like it would be the perfect size for the set. Has anyone tried this?

OK - I really like the blue 392E pulling the Blue Comet. Another variation - some of the Stephen Girard cars were mad in Blue Comet colors by MTH some time back - a blue 392E fits nice with them (since the original Girard set was pulled by a 392E). Search this site and see Terry Hudon's set - I provided the engine for him in a swap.

And I would have no hesitation running the 392E with the Blue Comet cars.
