Too early for me personally to start making a written list. With York three weeks away I'd have too much time to keep adding on items and by the day of York my list would be humongous.

All kidding aside, I do have two things I'll diligently search for and if I come acroos them it'll be icing on the cake for a great York experience.

Jeff don't short change yourself, you will be surprised at what you find, the greater question is whether the seller wants to sell it, or take it home from York themselves!

I typically make a list or update one from a previous York, but the lists have gotten much, much smaller over the years.  I usually bring my inventory list with me to avoid buying duplicates.

This time, as for the past 6-8 Yorks, I'm only looking for detail or small electrical parts.  I have no need or plans for big acquisitions.  If does something leap out at me, well, then maybe.  Given all that, here's the list:

- Fan driven smoke unit, either MTH or Lionel, preferably running on either 14-18 VAC or 12 VDC

- Some street lamps for downtown Steubenville (maybe)

Jeff T, DK is right. I have said it before on this Forum, "If Lionel ever made it, sooner or later it shows up at York."

I have seen it happen - to me!

As far as a list, well:

1.)      F 3; cheap powered chassis or unit (repair is ok)

2.)      Dummy coupler for 2046 project front coupler– forgot what article in OGR

3.)      MTH End of Train Device <20

4.)      MTH Greyhound bus; destination “YORK” <39 or “NEW YORK” and black out “NEW”

5.)      Look up Charlie Phillips in the Orange Hall for Williams parts & trains; next to Bachmann

6.)      Also, Train World in Orange Hall for their bargains

IF..I get to make it,I'll be on the hunt for more MTH Premier and Lionel Scale Steam and first generation scale diesels.I'm now looking for GN,NP,CB&Q,WP and DRGW steam and first gen diesels for RR's in the Deep South-FEC,Seaboard,C of Ga,ACL,L&N,IC,Southern.

Will always buy Mopac items if I see them at a fair price.

Me too Brian. It really is a lot more fun that way. Looking forward to seeing you.

I don't have any particular lists when I go.  However, this year I want to drop off a few items for repair / resto with vendors I've used previously and hopefully be able to scout out a few new possibilities for train cases / shelving for the train room / play room.  I don't really have space nor time to run the trains we already have, so unless something just strikes me as a complete steal or something I need to have, I have no plans to make any big purchases.

As said earlier there are two things I'll be diligently scouring the halls and tables for:

MTH Premiere Strasburg cars #20-62016, a 64’ Woodsided Coach Car (Strasburg Coach #72 Mill Creek) and #20-62026, a 3-Car 64’ Woodsided Passenger Add-On-Set  (Strasburg Baggage - Lime Valley, Strasburg Combine 60 - Donald E.L. Hallock and Strasburg Observation 88 - Marion).

Although the meet is huge, I don't know if I'll locate these but will be happy if I do. Otherwise I'll be browsing the isles, vendors' tables and display exhibits and if an item intrigues me and fits within my budget, it might share the ride back home with me. This being my first York experience, I plan having fun scoping it out and enjoying the awe of its magnitude and all that's available there.

My first stop will be Hobby Horse to purchase additional tools for the press I bought last year. Items to help me maintain what I have.

Then to look around for WM and RDG center cupola steel cabooses by MTH.

Next, Reading FA-1 set by Williams.

Followed by some Post War accessories.

On a whim, I might go looking for a couple of MTH Steam Engines {WM H-9, RDG T-1, AFT T-1, WM M-2 or WM I-1}. Diesel Engines, MTH ALCO S-2 {RDG & WM}.

On a wing and a prayer, Post War Lionel Erie ALCO FA set, CNJ or Lackawanna Trainmaster.

This whole mental list of mine sits in waiting as our government tries to figure out whether or not to furlough those of us who are the real worker bee's of the DOD. (The money will be needed for more important things).
