We have finally reached April, which means we are a few short weeks away from the first York show of 2023! We are happy to announce that on Saturday April 22nd at 11AM in the Orange Hall we will have the second installment of the YouTube Meet and Greet Panel. In the fall we had a packed room for some Q&A with Eric Seigel from Eric’s Trains, Chris Raines from RBP Trains, Jason Stuckert from Jason’s O-Gauge Trains, and Norm Charbonneau from Norm’s Trains.

Based on the attendance from the fall and in collaboration with the Eastern Division of the TCA we will be holding another event featuring Myself, Sid from Sid’s Trains, and RJ from RJ’s Trains. We hope to work with some vendors to have some door prizes, similar to how we ran this in October. This will be a chance to ask questions about the hobby, creating content for film or print, or doing custom electronic upgrades.

This event will be held in one of the meeting rooms which can be accessed from the hallway off the lobby of the Orange hall! We hope to see you there.

Chris a live stream would be fantastic as others have mentioned or even recorded for later posting. Chris a big thanks to you and your YouTube friends. It's wonderful to see such a fine group of young men promoting a hobby which I've loved all my life.

This is a great idea. We will try to, at least, film the event. If we can do a live stream we will have that up on one of our channels but we can't guarantee that the chat would be moderated!

I'd love to stop in but I am there through Friday only.  Unfortunately I am having my basement floor torn up on Saturday.  Leading up to April 1st I've been hearing jack hammers and shoveling underneath the house and then on April 1st it sounded like steam locomotives under there.  I'm hoping they can find the cause.

YIKES!

That's pretty distressing!

We are looking forward to this event! I'll be talking with Sid this week and we will figure out how to make a Livestream Work! If anyone who can't attend has questions or topics they would like us to cover feel free to leave in a reply to this thread since it will be next to impossible to moderate the livestream chat and in person event simultaneously.

Have fun guys (and not the mushroom kind).  Maybe in the fall.  There is a possibility of a Saturday stay over.

Here is the livestream from today's meet and greet! We had a great turnout, 80 people in the room and over 40 viewing live during the event. We were able to giveaway some items courtesy of the TCA, METCA, Trainworld, Trainz, and a generous donation from a TCA member - including TWO train sets to two kids! What a great day. Thank you to the TCA for continuing to present a positive influence on the hobby!

Thanks for hosting this event and posting the video.  I attended in October and it was great.  Any chance of switching to 2pm (ish) on Friday?  That's when the old OGR meeting used to be held, and it was always well attended.

Thank you to everyone that watched or was in attendance. Based on the positive response I'm sure another similar event will be set up for the October show. I can't say who will be highlighted or how the format will work, that will be discussed as we get closer to the next event.

There was discussion from the TCA about moving this to Friday for this show, however, many younger members of our hobby are in school on Friday and we try to give them more incentive to come to the show. If our event on Saturday can be a driving factor for them to come out to the show, then it's a win. This isn't to spit those that come on Thursday and Friday though.

Chris, just wanted to thank you and your friends for the livestream. Thanks for posting the livestream for later viewing, watching tonight. Chris you are spot on concerning the younger people, we have to make Saturday a more important day for them specifically. Will these kids show up with a thousand or more dollars to spend on trains, probably not, but we can plant the seeds for the future.

If there are enough of the "YouTube Gang" who want to be speakers, maybe there's a possibility to split the presenters and do two days.

Maybe theme them - Scenery/electronics/behind the scenes on Friday and Product Reviews/Layout updates on Saturday... or something of the like.
