I have a no  of these which I bought from several train shows. Tonite my goad was to wire up several turnouts. Well----when I picked one up a wire lead fell out notto worry I thought I'l just screw it back in! After several attempts when I was not able to do this I took a magnifying glass and saw that those leads are "Soldered" IN!! Why oh why?? Not having a soldering iron that small to reattach those leads "whats a fellow/gal to do?" I do have a no of Tosheba switch motors that I can use thou----

I also have some of the Z-1000 switch machines that I would like to use with my Atlas switches.    I am at my wits end trying to wire these.  The wires will not stay in the slots.  I have tried several types and gauges of wire, and have tried tinning them with solder first.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  IMG_0671

They come from Z Stuff with stranded 26 AWG wire installed. I purchased stranded tinned wire that is very similar to the OEM wire. I purchased 8054T11 from McMaster Carr. Rather than splicing I just replaced the wire color for color. I did pre tin the wires before I installed them, I had no issue.

The DZ-1000s work great with the Atlas switch machines and I really do like them. They are a very nice, reliable switch machine that takes up a lot less space then the Atlas switch machines.  I got them hooked up with a little fiddling and doubling over the wire for the terminals I was using. My only suggestion to make them better would be to up-size the the wire they use to maybe #22 or even #24. That would definitely be an improvement, IMO. Especially for those of us with 'older' eyes that don't work as well as they once did.
