I am having some issues with several Z Stuff Controllers in that both lights are illuminated and the controller does not activate the turnout. If I activate the turnout at the switch machine it operates perfect. I would like any suggestions or  a way to contact Z Stuff directly all my searches come back with dealers.

You did not say what version of switch motor you have- DZ-2500 or DZ-1000 and since they are very different in instruction, wiring and troubleshooting we need to know which one.

Call them, they are extremely helpful. I'm knee deep in installing DZ-2500s both at home and at our local club into Atlas switches.

They are all 2500 with Ross turnouts. Thank You.

Hey Rick. I have been having the same problems off and on for quite a while too. I can activate the 2500 at the switch and they almost 100% work just fine. However, some of my buttons on the control board when I use them, either blink back and forth red / green or they both light up but do not control the switch.

I also only use the black, red and white wires. Nothing fancy. Some of my runs of wire are 30 feet away. It only ever appears to be the switch motors on the longer runs of wire.

At York, a few years ago, I talked to Dennis about issues I was having with my signal bridges and the buttons. There was a reasonable answer for my signal bridges. Since it did not happen all the time with the buttons, I got a few new ones to try. I still have the problem. Honestly, I just push the button on the switch and forget about the panel. I only have 4 switches that I cannot reach comfortably.

Please let us know what you find out.

Thanks.

Don

3rail unfortunately the couple of turnouts I am having the problem with are ones I cannot reach. Normally I am using my DCS Headheld and cycle the turnouts at the switch machine like you do but the ones with issues I cannot reach and those wire runs are over 30 feet also. I called Stuff this morning but I guess they don't answer the phone until 9 CST.

Rick…I really wonder if it is the length of the small gage wire compared to the volts going thru it to cycle the machine? Wierd that we both have the same issues with long runs of wire.
