Thanks,

What aluminum brackets?
is that a replacement part that we have to order Mike? I have 2 of those controllers and have never taken them apart.
Hope you're having a happy & healthy New Year.
Gerry
A part number for the part would be real handy here, I also have one of those transformers and things are a bit loose.

Thanks Bill, I assume to do both sides I'd need two of those? I haven't looked to see how that bracket goes in there. Or is that one that goes across.
John
You will need two, four screws on each mount.
Bill
Thanks Bill, that's what I assumed, but without opening it, I didn't really know.
I believe they are different part numbers for right and left. Additionally, be very careful. The originals had plastic bases and that is what the aluminium replaces. But the plastic bracket that hold the POT is also suceptable to cracking at the screw mounts. That is what happen to mine right out of the box new. If you move the handle too quickly, the gears will skip teeth. The plastic was far too brittle and not enough plastic at the holes. G
Hmm... I wonder if you can get those parts as well? If I'm going to use this thing, I might as well beef it up.
Are you sure the parts have different numbers? The ZW-C parts breakdown lists two of the 6102859065 parts.
I would like to know that as well. I have a ZW-C with the same problem!!

If the parts listing on the Lionel site is to be believed, you need two of the 6102859065 brackets. Item #17 on the listing.
I checked my notes, the base bracket is the same, it is the POT bracket that is different left and right. G
Is it easy to install or do I need a service station?

That certainly makes more sense. Do they make metal replacements for those?
Howard
You can do the installation. You will probably have to time the gear and pot assembly gear.
Bill

I would also like to know if there were any metal brackets for those pot controls. It seems to me that the plastic ones that hold the control for the handles flexes a lot and if it was made of metal it would be stronger.
Has anyone ordered these? I ordered some but the original screws don't work. The brackets look to have a machine screw thread. I was wondering if they should have come with new screws. I emailed Mike Reagan but have not received a response. Too bad they don't mention the cost ($28 for a pair) in the ZW-C product Youtube video, just to contact customer service and we will take care of you.
Wyatt. If yours are like mine, the original bracket seems to strip out. I thought it was the fault of the pot controls flexing as well. Once I am able to obtain the mounting screws I can find out if that is the case.
