Me thinks this release is somewhere in Chicago also, fork in hand.
I'm going to take my guess a different DIRECTION, saying that this will be Menard's first tubular track switches; also known as a FORK in the (rail) road.

Mark.. thread is way too long. As previously requested, please unveil your new items on a fresh post, not at the end of a three-page thread like this one! Thanks.

Is it really that hard to go to the last page of a thread?
Any word on the release for today?

I like that the release is part of the original thread. It's fun to read through the build up if I don't keep up with it for a few days.
I also like the natural rythym that these threads take:
1. Mark posts initial hint
2. Wild *ss guesses ensue, some in jest, some serious
3. Complaints about guesses
4. Mark posts second hint
5. Amateur comedy hour (days)
6. Where is the release?
7. Product release
8. Crowd goes wild for reasonably priced, reasonably featured products that are immediately available for purchase
9. Complaints it's not scale, not their road name, not a brewery
10. Cabinet Bob's video review the following day.
It's a perfect formula, don't change it!

Too funny !! I wish others would think like you !!
Tom Blevins posted:These threads are about as stupid as they can be with everyone's witty (or so they think) comments! Just post the new product so I don't have to cycle through a multi page thread to see it. I could give a rat's behind about all the other comments on the thread!
You're right. All those clicks and only you to do it.
Save yourself the energy and just go to menards.com tomorrow.
all in good fun

I kind of agree. It's the same 5 people in every release thread, who pretty much could just cut and paste their comments from previous release threads. Personally, I don't open the thread until the release date is at hand.
No, it is not hard to scroll to the end. However, often once the release is posted, two more pages get added by comments, so you really do have to search these long threads. I did that just now...and hey no release.
I agree with Radio Ron. Perhaps either a new thread titled "RELEASED", or change the topic of the current threads to say RELEASED. Then we know if we open the thread we might actually see it.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Menard's products, but the novelty of these guessing threads wore off after the first couple.

EDIT: 6b. This thread is too da** long!

Fixed with Edits.
Topic views don't lie, the buzz for these products is audible to the industry.

Hey guess what everyone its been released! LOL!
Happy Tuesday!
Our tech team has been tying to get the new item online for a couple hours now but to no avail.
We'll keep trying but I suspect we will make the release tomorrow morning. Sorry for the delay!
Thank you for your patience!

LOL like Cabinet Bob said I went container diving and I know what it is! But I will never tell anyone cause it takes the fun out of it! \
So my brothers Paul2 and Play trains are going to just have to wait! Ha! Ha!

And we thank you for taking the time to contribute the stupidest comment yet.

And we're live!
Some folks have requested that I post the new release in a separate thread. Here's the link!
PS: If anyone had guessed a container handler (AKA a container fork lift), I would have been blown away! Tough teaser this week!
Thank you,
Mark the Menards Train Guy
Outside the box just got way bigger. Mark and crew....well done. Now we have another way to have a container facility......Paul

That was a very good clue in retrospect. Must keep an open, clear mind in the future.
What, me worry?
Not sure if this was mentioned elsewhere, but I think there is a small mistake on the warbonnet caboose design.
The silver end is the rear and the tail lights are correctly placed on that end. But the winged logos are then facing the wrong direction; they should face forward, towards the orange end. Both logos face the rear.
Other than that, a beautiful car.

I saw that too and did't know if the lights were on the wrong end or something, did not want to reply as I did not have enough information on the subject. Glad you had the info to back it up.
Now imagine if Menards corrects this and puts the wings facing forward, instant collectible
Oh I doubt it will be corrected simply for the fact that if they did then I would actually own a collectible. Not possible.
If I was wrong I will happily take correction.
